Quest 1/2: Fools rush in [Episode 21511]

Tatewaki Kuno swaggered into the pyramid.

The entry was near the top, leading to a stairway, and the door had a mirror upon it. No problem. He could take a moment to insure that he looked properly heroic before he went in and smote the foul sorcerer. He would-

Tatewaki Kuno, age 17, beheld himself.

The Mirror of Truth. It stripped away lies, illusions, delusions, and all manner of problems. Looking into it, one saw oneself. One was confronted with all the harm one had committed through one's actions. All the harm committed by one's inactions. One saw oneself in full glorious detail without any masks or tricks or denials and knew exactly what the mirror was revealing.

Everyone outside the pyramid heard the scream of a lost soul and saw the haggard kendoist who ran from the pyramid as if trying to outrun all the demons of hell.

A number of those observing this got very very nervous. Some went home. Something that could scare Kuno - the very soul of overconfidence?

After a nervous minute, one of the others decided to brave it -

• Nabiki's curiosity gets the better of her.
• Kodachi wants to see what could scare her brother like that, and perhaps get one for the estate.
• Akane is still protesting that she doesn't want to bother with the baka, but her father is insistent.
• Shampoo braves the pyramid.
• Ryouga decides he'll ask for the pig to be removed, and maybe get Ranma back.
• someone else gives it a try.
