So, instead, Akane was more envious of what her friend had to offer, not that she was about to complain about it. In fact, she knew what sort of problems came with being popular. Given the way that she got bothered at school by the jerks who thought that attacking was a good way to ask her out, she feared for whatever might come her friend's way. Boys other than Ranma seemed to be inherently incapable of thinking above their belts, and she was just happy that Moka had someone who actually cared about her, rather than just the beautiful body outside.
Having made friends with Moka, she wasn't about to do anything that could trouble the pink haired girl's relationship with Ranma. Not that she wanted to be with the guy in the first place, but the fact was that she knew that her friend had some troubles in the past. Apparently, the girl had some troubles in school in the past... but not of the scholastic kind. Well, should someone try something like that now, they'd have to deal with Akane's response to such stupidity.
Fortunately, the other girl had not only met Ranma in school, but had bonded with him so well that just seeing the two of them together was enough to bring a smile to her face. Moka always wanted to do something with Ranma, and he seemed to have an instinctual need to protect his wife. His interference didn't seem to always be needed, but he apparently always wanted to do it, and she always was cheered by his attempts to defend her.
Sighing heavily to herself, Akane acknowledged that the two probably needed to have someone to watch out for them. Having to do that was something of a challenge, but she didn't stop to really think about it. They were her friends, and buddies were supposed to help each other out. Unshaken in that belief, she knew that she was going to do her best for the two of them, while:
