What did concern her was the rather odd sensibility that her friend had, which did tend to get a bit odd from time to time. From what she could understand, there was a code of chivalry that Sun worked under, which one wouldn't immediately notice from the cheerful and relaxed personality that she usually showed. When the chips came down though, and something pricked her sense of honor, Sun was deadly serious about it, and wasn't about to let go of what she thought was the proper thing to do.
From what she'd heard about Ranma's father's reaction to that side of the girl, it seemed that he was absolutely terrified of her for reasons no one could quite understand.
Not that the elder Saotome man seemed to understand exactly what sort of relationship his son had with Sun. That was perfectly alright by the married couple's standards though, as they were happy being together, and didn't need his fussing over their relationship. Then again, it was likely that they would have wished to have him a bit less clueless though with this latest stunt.
Of course, Akane was rather wary of seeing certain people involved in this problem. Oh, she was rather sure that she could handle Genma if it came to that, and knew that Ranma's mother wasn't going to buck things, especially with the fact that the pigtailed boy was happily married. But what had her concerned was the interference that would likely be coming from Sun's family, most of whom hadn't heard of a little something called restraint. Hell, just having to deal with Sun's father on a regular basis gave her a desire to pound the living daylights out of her friend's parent, and that was when they were on a normal visit. Having to handle the jerk, and the rest of that crew, when this arrangement of their fathers came out was going to be a hassle and a half.
Hopefully it'd blow up just in Genma's face, but she had a sneaking suspicion that it was going to spread out even if she didn't want it to. To tell the truth, that was actually what she expected, but she could live with the fantasy that she might actually not have to knock sense into some heads. The main problem with that was that it seemed that some of them actually liked that, and she had to spend an inordinate amount of time forcibly removing them from her vicinity. Considering how many times they already had to beat upon Sun's father, that was a headache that she didn't need, but at least Sun's mother was usually around to handle the man when his daughter wasn't.
She just wasn't going to get into just how... open Mrs. Seto could be in pushing Sun and Ranma together, or teasing her son in law. Remembering what that had been like was... not something that she was too sure that she could handle, even though she was going to have to encounter it all too soon. As it was, she was just hoping that both Auntie Saotome and Mrs. Seto wouldn't turn their attention to her and her sisters... again.
Blowing out a breath, Akane shook her head and had to admit that this was likely to get very interesting soon enough. Having her friends show up was something that she was looking forward to, but she was also aware of the fact that things wouldn't be quiet for some time yet. However, she was looking forward to seeing just how Genma Saotome would react to having Sun as a daughter in law, and what came with her.
The mental image of all the trouble that could drop on the head of Ranma's father brought a smile to her face, and she giggled a little while:
