"Yes," said one of the elves. "I noticed your lack of hair, and thought that the father of the groom would appreciate such a thing."
"So, this is a hairpiece, that once it is put on would actually become real hair that is attached to the subject's scalp?" asked Genma, looking at all the multicolored scribbles in midair. He couldn't follow the basics but he understood enough. These were magical equations of some kind, and that the elves clearly didn't understand that wedding gifts were supposed to be for the couple to be wedded. He also understood that this might be considered a bribe to himself not to interfere.
If this latter was the case, he had to admit it had a pretty darn good chance of working. To have a full head of natural hair again WAS a powerful lure.
"Right," said the elf, most of her attention fixated on one of the glowing equations. "You'd just put it on, the magic discharges, and then it's just normal hair as if you'd grown it yourself."
"I see," said Genma, who DID in fact see. "What would this hair look like?"
"Well, we could go with potentially any kind of hair, but we managed to work this out," said the elf, tapping a mirror laid out on the table.
Genma wasn't too sure about it until he looked in the mirror. Then he felt tears coming to his eyes. There was his reflection looking back at him. Except that he didn't actually have long full glorious hair cascading down past his shoulders. He'd never had hair that gleamed like that, but it was something he could live with. "Why, that looks exactly like the hair I had in my youth!"
If the elf caught the lie, she didn't indicate it. "Oh good, that was what we were aiming for."
Genma considered the elf seriously for a moment. "I thought you were all going to wait for a century or two."
"The lady Elle is ready to wait," said the elf as she swapped a couple of variables and then studied the results. "Not everyone is so patient."
"I see," said Genma.
Elle sighed as things continued to develop.
Though mainly it was just Ranma training at this so-called "Mount Terror" training camp.
Honestly, she couldn't see why it was called that. When she'd heard the name she had expected dragons or vengeful spirits haunting a graveyard at the summit or something along those lines.
This was just a wooded area with a campsite. She didn't even see where there was any indication of predators larger than the occasional bear.
