-A few days earlier, East China Sea-
If one were to take in the scene, there would have been not a few raised eyebrows. Given, seeing a panda swimming in the middle of the ocean, with two large heavy-looking packs on its back, with what seems to be a bouncing blob of...something with a pig-tail jumping on the top of the packs, either screeching loudly or bursting into some random, nonsensical song would rate as 'weird' in someone's book.
"Just keep swimming easy, Pops~!" Ranma, who was turned into a strange creature called the yukkuri, shouted at the panda, said panda just grumbling every few strokes and so.
In hindsight, Ranma seems to be adapting well with what he has become.
-Present, Juuban District-
Rei Hino sighed peacefully as she ended the day once again sweeping up the steps that lead up to the Hikawa Shrine. Of course, after she finishes this chore, she has to get ready for a meeting with her friends, the Sailor Senshi, in a few hours.
It has been a few months since the defeat of Sailor Galaxia and her Sailor Animamates. Things have fallen into a lull now. Setsuna Meiou, or Sailor Pluto, said to take things easy for now, as there would be no other major problems for the rest of the year. Which was just as well, as the Sailor Senshi, after more than two years of battling whatever nasties threatened the Earth that time, they needed a break. Of course, with the lull, the Warriors of Love and Justice wasted no time virtually goofing off like it was summer break, though it was just the middle of the Fall Semester.
Finally finishing the last step, Rei gently leaned the broom onto a wall, and finally stretched her back, getting some kinks out. It was when she turned towards her home that she heard heavy steps walking up the stone stairs to her shrine. Turning back to the main gate, she spotted a balding old man in a tattered white gi, carrying two heavy packs trudging towards the temple. She raised a delicate eyebrow as the man spotted her.
Walking to where she was, the man called out, "Excuse me, priestess. I want to see the head priest of this temple! I want to talk to about a possible exorcism." Her eyebrow raised higher at that inquiry.
Nonetheless, she answered, "Uh, hold on a second. I'll go see if my Grandfather is in." With that, she stepped into the temple.
-Moments later...-
Rei walked away from the room where her grandfather and the martial artist who identified himself as Genma Saotome, were speaking in even tones. After some earlier bargaining, her grandfather allowed the fat man to stay in the Hikawa Shrine for a few days, until whatever business Genma had was finished. Rei did not care, either way, though she and her friends would have to be extra careful during their Senshi meetings.
Walking into the room that Genma would be temporarily staying in, she eyed the two heavy packs in the corner. Both were worn and had tears in a few places, signs of a well-used travel. She sighed at the dirt and grime, though, that seemed to cover every inch of both packs. She padded her way towards the packs, absently flicking off a speck of dirt barely hanging from the flap of one of the packs.
"Though..." Rei wondered to herself, "Why would Mr. Saotome be carrying two packs, instead of one?" She curiously poked a bulge in the smaller pack...
...And nearly shrieked in terror when said bulge began squirming.
She had to slow her heart beat as she began hearing muffled shouts, "Thish ij not eajy! Pobs, you idjot!" Screamed the bulge.
Gulping her nervousness, she slipped and readied a few ofudas from her sleeves, and slowly with a trembling hand, reached for the flap of the traveling. She then slowly opened the flap...
-Poof!- She jumped back in surprise when something all but shot out of the pack. Then she stared.
The thing shook itself, then seemed to stretch. It was primarly just some blob, with black hair that was twisted into a pig-tail. Curiously, the thing began looking around, and then saw her, staring at her with bright, stormy-blue eyes.
One thing ran through Rei's mind though, 'So cuuuute!'
She nearly squealed though, when the thing just grinned adorably, and said, "Yo! Th'name's Ranma, heir to the Yukkuri-Saotome Art of Anything Goes Taking-it-Easy!"
The thing yelped, though, when Rei glomped onto him, squealing girlishly.
"SO KKEWWWWT!! &hearts &hearts "
...Though, they really can't do anything as of yet, as their princess is happily squeezing the thing.
