Coupled Union - Love's Magic: Connecting Through Combat [Episode 217924]

by Kender

Thinking about Nanoha always brought a smile to Akane's face, mainly due to the fact that the other girl was just so... friendly. There was no calculation about it, as the brunette with the ponytail was naturally sweet, with a lack of desire to hate anyone. This was someone who simply didn't have a vicious bone in her body, and wouldn't immediately want to beat down anyone... usually.

If her friends were in danger, Nanoha would go to help them, which was a wonderful thing in the martial artist's book. Not that her friend wasn't willing to get tough in a fight, as the married girl was perfectly willing to thrash anyone that she had to. She was smart too, able to handle things on the fly, and take on combat situations with a keen mind. In fact, she even heard that Nanoha was an instructor of some sort or another, which was impressive with the fact that her friend wasn't that much older than her.

Sensing that she was about to get into trouble, Akane tried her best to keep her feelings inside, and knew that she would have to keep her anticipation from showing. That wasn't going to be easy, considering the fact that she wanted to spar with the older girl again. Sure, that sort of insistence had forced her into that match with Nanoha back then, but she hadn't realized what that would mean. Yet, Nanoha had seemed to like it, as she seemed to think that being in a fight was a good way to communicate with others. Oddly enough, that did seem to fit, as the girl with the ponytail had apparently used combat against others to make them into friends. Hell, as she understood it, Ranma and his wife had gotten together after a match between the two of them.

Of course, she didn't exactly mind when Nanoha had a... 'chat' with Kuno. The results weren't exactly what she'd thought they'd be, but at least the jerk had been humbled... sort of. Some new concerns might have popped up, but she was certain that she could handle them.

In the mean time though, she was going to have to contact Nanoha, which was going to be a problem. It wasn't like the married woman would be able to run right over there. For all that Akane knew, her friend might have been in the middle of something at the last moment, and that might mean that she'd have to be considerate. Despite the fact that she knew that the brunette would sure as hell want to know about her husband's return, yelling it out wouldn't always be a good thing.

Hopefully though, Nanoha could get there soon enough. Otherwise, she would have to bring him back to his wife, which wouldn't exactly be a simple trip. Oh, she liked going off to visit the feminine half of the couple, but she didn't want to make a move before she knew what was going on. If they left right when Nanoha was heading for the dojo, this could wind up being a missed oportunity.

However, it was entirely likely that they would meet each other again soon enough. Certainty over the depth of joy that the couple would have upon their reunion helped to fuel her desire to help out, not that she wouldn't give assistance if she didn't like the two. Honor still counted for something within her, and she rather liked the couple as it was. Most everyone would be happy to see the two of them returned to each others arms. With the sort of heart that had made her willing to fight for the chance to be friends, Nanoha had to be the example of pure acceptance that warmed her heart.

Then again, it seemed that Nanoha didn't like Genma all that much, which wasn't surprising, as she didn't particular like what she knew of the big guy herself.

Imagining pain for that idiot that Ranma had as a father pleased her, and she held that picture in her mind for a moment, while:
