"Mr. Customer sure to leave other Mr. Customer?" said the Guide, who was somehow convinced to give the diminutive form of the girl-Ranma a piggy-back ride on their way to the Chinese Amazon village south of the valley. Said blue-haired girl just nodded.
"Meh, Pops has fur now. I think he'll be fine." Ranma shrugged her shoulders, before she grimaced, "That hotter still burned, though."
"Not my fault." Replied the Guide, "Water not need to be too hot for curse to be reversed. Barely luke warm."
It was moments ago that, after Ranma calmed a little, that the Guide explained that the curse could work the other way by applying hot water, thus reversing the cursed individual back to their birth form. What was luke warm to the Guide, though, was scalding for Ranma, and she gained some minor burns, though they seemed to have healed mostly. All that was left was pink, raw skin. Still stung though, in Ranma's opinion.
"Maybe Amazon know reason why so?" The Guide reasoned, looking at the little girl/cursed man over his shoulder. Ranma just shrugged again in response, then the Guide continued trudging towards the village.
"It not that far. Reach there by night."
-Later-
True to word, the two had arrived just after sundown, and was greeted to a rather competetive atmosphere. Many women, most in full battle regalia and wielding strange, but rather dangerous-looking weapons, were gathered around some area of the village, though battle cries could be heard over the din of the crowd. On one of the crowd was a table laden with food. Strangely enough, Ranma wasn't as hungry as she thought she was, so she decided to leave the food alone. Besides, the elaborate way upon which the table was prepared seemed to be indicate something, and so did the female guards posted around the perimeter of the feast. (Though Ranma could sneak through the guards, it had seemed that without Genma around at the moment, that Ranma had actually thought this one through, instead of being affected by his Pop's 'Aura of Idiocy', which grants anyone that knows and is near Genma -30 points of Intelligence, or something. Wouldn't really be helpful at all, even if person affected does roll a natural 20 on their Int check.)
It did quite help that, once they got through the crowd and into the front to see what all the hullabaloo was about, that the Guide whispered loud enough for Ranma hear, "We is lucky, little Mr. Customer. Is yearly Amazon Tournament. Great Amazon Warriors fight to determine who village champion is." Then, gesturing towards a vague direction of where the feast Ranma saw earlier, added, "Whichever Amazon win, get to be Champion, and partake in sacred feast first." His voice then took a bit of a serious tone, "Though, who eat feast first either foolish or plain idiots. Champion feast sacred, and who idiot enough incurs whole village's wrath. Not very good in front of pointy hurties." Ranma swallowed her sudden rise of nervousness, and just turned back to the fight.
The arena was some sort of raised horizontal log, suspended by four other logs and rope. Balanced on the log was two fighters: a cute, purple-haired young woman wielding two bonboris, and the other, a large, tall, wide and vaguely-feminine figure in the same armor dress the other amazons were wearing, this one wielding some spear. Both stood on the opposite ends of the log, in battle-ready stances. They both tensed, they leaped towards each other.
Then, there was a flash of high-speed movement that only Ranma's, and several other trained Amazon's trained eyes could track, and the fight was over. Falling to the ground was large female, and standing triumphant amidst the cheers of the crowd, was the cute purple-haired amazon, a positively glowing smile on her face, which, to Ranma's (as of yet unnoticed regressed childish) outlook, made the Amazon look really pretty. Ranma's eyes was wide and ecstatic, eyes twinkling with open admiration, then caught herself, then scowled at some of the cooing noises some of the Amazon near them directed to her. Though she did keep her eyes trained on the purple-haired Amazon as she was carried by the crowd to the prepared feast.
..,Cue chase scene involving Genma as the recieving end of many pointy, stabby, bashy, slashy, ouchie, and many other painful implements of inducing injuries.
"WOW! THAT WAS SOOO COOOL! Can ya teach me how to do that?"
...Wait a minute, that didn't come out right...
The Guide opts to stay silent.
Cue Ranma saving the girl by flash-freezing the large female. Shampoo is grateful.
