Three's... Accepted? - Lessons: Tangled; Weaving Strings [Episode 218713]

by Kender

Although she knew that plenty of people would have expected her to have an apartment that was cluttered or strange, but as she padded around in her bare feet, Kanna recognized that they were wrong. In fact, her rooms were actually that of a condo for the most part. Anyone who looked around it would have thought that it was a fancy living space for some high priced executive or lawyer. Yet it was all hers, and even there wasn't much to really make it a home, she felt rather comfortable in it.

Twisting around to head to the balcony quickly enough that her robe fluttered up a bit, she wondered about how her work was going to go. As it was, she couldn't even continue on with even her old plans conquer the world. After all, with everyone so desperate to protect the future that they were willing to allow boys to marry more than one girl at once, things were too uncertain to go with long term strategies. On top of that, she had governments, foundations, and corporations the world over asking for her aid in dealing with the exact threat itself. That did take up a lot of time for her, and she was too busy to go through with her desired plans... although they didn't have to make those requests of her.

Kisaragi had already asked her to look into this problem, and if Ki-chan asked her for a favor, she was damned sure that she was going to give any assistance that she could.

Almost as if in response to the vehemence behind her thoughts, she felt a lick along her toes, and she nearly jumped in response to it. She did back up though, and looked down to see a canine face peering up at her.

"Oh, did you want to cheer me up?" she asked the small dog as she picked him up and held him at chest level.

He gave a happy little bark and started wagging his tail.

"What a little darling you are!" the blonde declared before hugging him tightly. "I'm so glad that you and I are here together. It's all due to Chitose...."

Even though the dog seemed to recognize what she was about to do, he merely snuggled in towards her.

"Chitose... Chitose... Chitose.... We do have a special moments just between the two of us, don't we? Oh, dear, what to do? Ah, how wonderful! And to think that it could be the base for even more.... My, oh, my.... What would we do?"

Licking the scientist on the chin, the dog seemed to ignore the blush of embarrassment that came with the direction of her thoughts.

"That tickles.... But I did get a bit out there. Though... maybe it might be nice to go and visit see him. Just to make sure that he was okay. I mean, I know that Ki-chan would take care of him, but it'd be comforting to see him in person. Of course, he'd probably be looking for someone to be his wife. I could be that girl, which would mean that we would...."

As steam seemed to whistle from her ears, her little canine friend barked what sounded like a laugh and seemed to be bemused by what was going on.

Recent events hadn't been all that helpful for Minazuki's sense of comfort, as nothing was showing a sign of settling down. Not only was all the chaos involved in the new marriage laws, there were threats to the continued safety of her dear big brother, and their beloved Mamas. It wasn't likely to do much to physically hurt them, but as it stood, her inability to get enough focus to answer the government agent's questions had possibly caused him to be curious over Chitose's situation.

A large part of her mind was drawn onto the possibility that she had left those important to her vulnerable to the sort of trouble that could ruin the lives that they had now. Sighing to herself, she tapped her pen onto her notebook, she knew that she should be using this study period for what it was assigned for. Unfortunately, she was finding it hard to focus, as there was too much going on for her to concentrate. Pressing her lips together, she hung her head and hoped that things weren't going to go worse at the moment.

"Um... Miss Rokumatsuri?" murmured a nearby voice.

Turning to look at the speaker, she blinked at the sight of a boy looking nervously at her. "Yes?"

"Would you.... Might you.... Can you help me with this problem from the homework?" he asked, swallowing a bit as he did so.

"Umm... sure...."

Curling up her lip might not have been the most mature thing to do, but Fumitsuki wasn't exactly trying to do anything about that. Rather, she was reacting to the sight of the boys appearing to be even more desperate to get Miss Sazenin to turn her attention towards them. It had been bad enough when they were merely faking illnesses so that she'd have to 'treat' them, but now they could have a chance to marry her, however slim it was, they were even more willing to try to get her to pick them over everyone else.

Disgust at their actions led her twirl away from them and stalk away from the stupidity.

"Now, if only it was Chitose and me.... Ah, what am I thinking?" she whimpered, speeding up to get away from her latest moment of embarrassment.

The papers in his hand looked to be putting it in fairly sedate terms, but Fujioka knew that what he was seeing was describing at least part of someone's life. This was information of a person, and every word there was a bit of the tale that this person would talk about. For him, it was also something that could help him to work on what he had to do, and as much as he didn't want to disturb others, he knew that he had do something like this.

"Ummm... Are you that government guy?" asked an uncertain voice.

"That would be," Fujioka answered, looking over at the boy who had spoken. "Can I help you?"

"Well... I hope so. It's... It's about a girl."

"I understand."

"Of course. What do you need?" the agent asked with a comforting smile, while:
