N-Class Productions: A Father's Pride [Episode 218737]

by Coengar2

The morning sun began to peek over the horizon signaling the start of a new day in the Nerima ward. Through out the ward people began to awaken and begin thier preparations for the new day.

Some began by breaking thier fasts with an early meal others chose to start with a hot shower or morning soak, in the Tendo household however, a person was starting the new day with a few stretching exercises.

Genma Saotome groaned slightly at the various pops and cracks that came from his body as he continued his attempts to touch his toes.

Giving up on the endevor Genma then switched to twisting his torse from side to side resulting in more cracks and pops.

All this effort was so that Genma could limber up before engaging in one of his favorite past times.

Throwing his sleeping son out the window and into the koi pond below.

Genma liked nothing more than helping his teenaged son start his day with an invigorating soak that helped get his blood pumping while waking the boy up completely and preparing him to face his father in brutal hand to hand combat.

All in the name of training of course.

Of course Genma would never openly admit that this morning cheap shot was most likely the only time he ever got the better of his son as the boy was an excellent fighter and once fully awake was almost impossible to defeat.

To be honest, genma had been unable to defeat the boy in honorable combat in over a year, especially since the boy had returned from China and his fight with the Pheonix King, Saffron.

So Genma took his little victories whereever he could get them.

Having loosened up, Genma began to reach down to grab his son's long pig tail when he noticed something sticking out from under the boy's pillow. Pulling the item out revealed it to be a scroll of some kind.

"The boy is holding out on me." Genma grumbled to himself as he opened the scroll and began to read what it contained.

As he read the scroll, the color began to fade from his face as he recognized the techniques written on the scroll. They were the basic techniques of the Master's school of Anything Goes. The same techniques that the Master had tried to teach Genma.

Unfortunately Genma was lazy and lacked the proper motivation to learn the techniques, not to mention that the small time thief had no interest in learning anything so perverted as these techniques.

Genma frowned as he rolled the scroll up, it was bad enough that Nodoka was trying to get her claws into the boy by bringing him into her business but now it seemed as if the Master was trying to get his hooks into the boy as well.

Now to many it would appear as if Genma had little love for his son given the way that he treated the boy and the training methods that he had employed but nothing was farther from the truth.

Genma was gruff with his son so that the boy would not become soft from any sentimentality and lose his edge. In fact Genma was very proud of the martial artist that his son had become and the one thing that made Genma the prouded was that despite all that the boy had been through, Ranma had developed a strong sense of honor.

But now that sense of honor was threatened because if the boy was to begin learning the Master's techniques the perversions would soon corrupt the boy and he would begin to follow the Master's dark path and not the path of the true martial artist.

"This is for the best boy." Genma whispered softly as he reached into his pocket and produced a lighter.

He set the flame to the edge of the scroll and soon the scroll was consumed by the fire leaving nothing but some ash which Genma blew out the window.

As he watched the ash drift away on the morning breeze Genma smiled. He had saved his son from the Master's perverted teachings and would now keep a closer eye on the boy in case the Master would try again to give the boy another scroll.

With a satisfied grunt Genma turned back to his son and grabbed the boy by his pigtail and by an ankle and with a mighty heave sent the sleeping boy airborn.

"Besides," Genma thought as he prepared to leap out the window "The boy will be much easier to control with a code of honor than he would have been if he learned the Master's way."
