Gendo Ikari steepled his hands as he studied it. "Our spy has done well."
Fuyutsuki inclined his head, acknowledging that this was quite a compliment coming from Gendo. It WAS fast and fairly complete though, so it actually was a good job.
"The Oni Kingdom is a loose group of might-makes-right, with tradition and ceremony providing a structural framework to the whole thing," said Gendo. "If we influence their 'princess' we may be able to influence that kingdom."
Fuyutsuki inclined his head again slightly. "We already are progressing towards that goal."
"More of concern are these kingdoms," said Gendo. "What do we know of these?"
"Makai is like the Oni Kingdom in that they feel strength proves the right to rule," said Fuyutsuki. "However they are somewhat more civilized than the Oni and have the strongest of their groups as nobles ruled over by a royal family. Contact is limited with that group. More concerning is that Mungo indicated that they were rumored to be infiltrating human society."
"Interesting," said Gendo. "We have seen no individuals so far capable of assuming a human guise."
"Most are very NONhuman in appearance," agreed Fuyutsuki. "Miss Osaka brought that up. Mungo pointed out we have seen less than 1% of what is on the other side of the Anomaly."
"What of this other kingdom?" asked Gendo, indicating another patch of the map.
"Land of the dead, apparently," said Fuyutsuki. "Spirits, ghouls, vampires, also some oni and what he calls 'demons' - with apparently a Lord Enma residing over it. The one we most need to watch out for is this land over here."
"That would be the one labeled 'the bad place'?" asked Gendo.
"We DID get this largely from Mungo, but all our sources agree that this land here is in constant flux and is a land of the worst of the worst," said Fuyutsuki. "That's where Nock and some of the others came from."
"So the one we most need information on, we have the least information on," said Gendo.
"Typical," agreed Fuyutsuki. "Miss Osaka is seen most as a favored idol singer as the 'oni princess' - while the other kingdoms see us as an annoying neighbor. With the exception of some 'loose cannons' in Enma's kingdom and in Makai who might see us as prey."
