And sometimes, it's the other way around...
Tendo Nabiki sighed, looking up at the skies. It was Sunday, the weather was nice and sunny (if a bit on the windy side), Akane and Ranma were training in the Dojo, her Father and Uncle Genma had disappeared off someplace as usual, and Kasumi seemed to be busy in the kitchen while Aunt Nodoka puttered around with the laundry.
Situation all normal, in other words. How boring. Now, if she could only think of some new and interesting way to better her financial status...
Ever since Akane and Ranma's 'wedding' had gone boom, things had been distinctly on the quiet side. Nabiki sighed yet again, fingering her photos from that 'wedding'. OK, OK, so some day, these would probably come in handy in some fashion, but...
The thing was, though - she still couldn't figure out just what her Father or Uncle Genma was thinking of when they planned that 'wedding'. It couldn't really be that they actually didn't realize that Akane and Ranma couldn't legally get married yet even with parental permission, right? Marriageable age under modern Japanese law was from 18 for males and from 16 with parental permission for females (with no permission needed from 18 and up) as far as she could remember - which meant that Akane and Ranma couldn't legally get married at all for at least two years more, if she understood things correctly.
Ahh, well - who knew, this was Uncle Genma and her Father they were talking about, after all. It was quite possible that they'd only realized that Akane and Ranma couldn't get married at all yet when they went and got the marriage papers at the town hall or something, now that she thought about it. That would explain why both of them had been strangely calm in the aftermath of the attempted 'wedding', anyhow...
Well, that was done and over with, for the time being anyhow. For now... Nabiki yawned, looking up at the skies. It was such a nice day...
And that was when the strange young man with a hand-drawn map and memo in his hand came up to the Tendo household's door.
It had been a quiet day, all things considering, till that moment.
But now...
Things were about to change.
Ranma blinked, looking around the Dojo. Hmmm...that feeling...
Akane looked around, too, trying to figure out why Ranma had started to look around him.
"Oh, is there somebody at the door?"
The young man cleared his throat. This was the right address, right?
Well, he hoped so, anyhow...
And now for what he'd come for.
"Tendo Kasumi! I challenge you to a duel!!"
