It was a hard struggle to find a way to sneak into this world from her home, seeing as she had to look and virtually break into that shrine maiden's temple just to get to this world.
But it was exactly as many had rumored, that the outside world was vastly different than her home, Gensokyo; buildings that nearly reached the sky, and those strange, horseless carriages. Heck, even those large, metal bird-shaped vehicles that she had occasionally seen. What were they called again; airplanes? Rinnosuke would have a conniption if he ever found out.
And that would be her intention. To let everyone find out, as this was credible news. This would be an extra many will read. And Bunbunmaru News will get many subscriptions with this issue.
And she would get this story, or her name isn't-
Oooh, a strange rumor of a race of warrior-women off in the land called China.
-PUH-SHOOOM!-
She was off faster than those 'air planes' she had seen in this world.
She also had to remind herself to tell China she had a large mass of land named after her.
In an entirely different world not far from our own, a beautiful red-headed gate guard suddenly looked up into the sky and shouted, "MY NAME IS NOT CHINA! NOT CHINA! NOT CHINA!"
Floating meters above the ground, a young-woman with blond hair, wearing a black dress and a white apron, was sitting on a broom, staring at the person who claimed that she was not named China, "Um, okay... whatever you say, China."
Noticing the floating figure, not-China-but-still-called-China turned to a certain, bothersome witch, and said, "Eh? Mari-"
Then the explosions began.
She was many things, and being cautious was one of them. Before she had arrived in the village, she had heard another rumor of a race of winged people, unlike her own, dwelling in an isolated mountain. Further inquiries had led her to the fact that the winged people, and the people in the destination she was going to were deep in conflict with each other.
That would not do, she had decided. But she could not walk in with her wings as is, or she would be struck down, mistaken for those ‘Phoenix’ people.
So walking in like a wide-eyed tourist (which, she technically was) would have drawn the least amount of suspicion.
So, here she was, dressed in some non-descript cloak, and taking in the sights, sounds, and tastes of the village, all the while drawing some curious, but not hostile, looks from the villagers as her camera flashed here and there. The villagers just shrugged.
\Meh, tourists.\ had been the most general consensus.
So now, here we find the tengu newspaper reporter, one Aya Shameimaru, lingering with the people, camera lens swerving about as she watched along the rest of the crowd the fighters do combat on the Challenge Log. The speed at which some of the fighters moved had impressed Aya, but had not been enough that she could compare her own speed to theirs. She, of course, possessed far more superior speed than these extraordinary humans…when she was in flight. Of course, she can achieve high-speed as well on land, if she used her power of the manipulation of wind, but that was another issue to be addressed later.
It was during the final match between a fighter named Shampoo, and the current champion, Dowel, that a flash of gold caught the corner of Aya's camera’s lens, and she suddenly swiveled her camera to the source, revealing to be a mop of long, blond hair, the owner revealed to be...
"Hey, isn't that Yukari?" Aya muttered.
She quickly stowed her camera away and jumped over the crowd, much to their shock, and suddenly dropped in front of the golden-haired beauty in the dirty clothes.
Of course, surprised as she was at the stranger that dropped in front of her without any warning, the currently female Ranma could be excused when she shrieked rather femininely.
Of course, being as she had no apparent control, or much knowledge for that matter, of her newfound power, said power needed no conscious prompting to trigger itself.
This resulted in the same tear in the fabric of reality that appeared in front of Genma a few hours previous, appearing over the black-haired stranger, and depositing a 20-pound cooking pot over her head, bouncing off her head with a rather muffled -HWONGK!- before clattering into the ground.
Half of the crowd was stunned, witnessing the stranger’s landing in front of a golden-haired beauty, and the strange gap’s appearance, now watched as the stranger teetered on her toes, her eyes apparently spinning, before her unconscious body thumped into the ground.
“Ayayayaya…” The stranger muttered before she lost consciousness.
The other half of crowd, meanwhile, being as they were on the other side of the Challenge Log, began cheering mightily when Shampoo, unnoticing of the commotion on one side of the Log, was declared the new village Champion.
That was when the everyone else noticed someone in tattered browns lying face-down on the ground, with an incredulous blonde woman staring at the prone body.
Whoops, it seems her cloak fell off, and now her wings are in plain view.
