Maybe. Maybe she should just lay off the spicy foods.
You lack the drive, the desire for power at all costs. That's why.
Anko put one hand near the burning that was her cursemark. "...freedom..."
Isaribi listened to the list of ships she was to attack today, but her eyes flicked over to the horizon. Humanity, or at least more of a measure than she had now?
Dared she hope?
Naruto is watching me, realized Hinata as she prepared to demonstrate her pactio abilities before the jonin they'd been able to assemble this morning. I mustn't lose. I mean, I mustn't look uncool. Not in front of Naruto.
Naruto watched.
So did a fair number of jonin as Hinata urged her broom up higher and higher.
"Uhm, isn't she going up awfully high?" asked Naruto.
The dot vanished in the distance.
"Isn't she going up WAY too high?" asked Naruto.
"I thought that she was going to demonstrate her abilities with this 'pactio'," said Hiashi Hyuga. "Instead she's just hiding again."
"Yes, but she's hiding in the clouds, which is certainly unusual," noted Kakashi.
"Ah! Here she comes!" said Naruto, pointing at a dot. "Wait a minute. Isn't she coming down kinda..."
"fast?" supplied Kakashi.
"She's falling! Shadow Clone Jutsu!" declared Naruto, whose clones then began to run in all directions to catch the falling girl.
"That's not going to help, you know," said Kakashi.
POFF! went about half the Naruto clones as they ran into each other with enough force to dispel them.
screech!
"This is fun," said Hinata as she stopped the broom a few feet above the remaining Naruto clones.
"Fast when she wants to be, with good control and the ability to hover," summed up Sarutobi, the Hokage. "Hmmmm. There might just be a use for this even if it doesn't last long."
"...last long?" asked Hinata.
POFF! went her hat and broomstick.
"Eeep!" exclaimed Hinata.
As Naruto caught Hinata, Kakashi eyed Hiashi. "She didn't plan it to end that way, did she?"
"She wouldn't have fainted with a nosebleed if she had," grumbled Hiashi Hyuga. "Well, he IS her fiancee, so I'll overlook it."
"Could we see some more demonstration of your abilities?" asked Anko, absolutely NOT thinking about the dream she'd had. Who her? Why would she consider such a thing?
"I think she needs to rest some first," observed Jiraiya.
later that same day:
ZOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!
Sakura blinked and stopped pulling Ino's cheeks. "Uhm, did you just see something?"
"Some girl zipping by on a flying broom? Not a chance," said Ino.
"Oh good, I didn't see that either," said Sakura.
