Mischief Fragment -pactio: Witchy Woman (see how high she fly-ai-eyes) [Episode 220063]

by Kestral

Hinata's empowered pactio form was Violet Witch Foxgirl Hinata, the Scout-Knight.

Well, at least that's what her pactio card said.

Her main limit was the time she could spend with pactio invoked. That was five minutes. After which one of two things happened. If she was near the ground at the time, she simply turned instantly back to a tired and hungry Hinata. If she was not near the ground (as happened accidently on one occasion during the testing) - she'd begin losing power with a more gradual cutoff that took about two minutes to complete.

Considering the panic (mostly from Naruto as Hinata had gotten very busy trying to get to the ground) that incident had caused, it was considered wise to avoid further testing of that quality.

A book was discovered, that listed something that further indicated that the strength of the relationship tied into the power of the pactio. Hinata had one star next to her name in the book [Power Of The Heart], but Yuhi Kurenai took custody of the book and vowed to work with Hinata on this new development. Hinata was severely embarassed, but after a talk from Yuhi vowed to work hard.

Which confused Naruto, but much of this situation did.

Hinata could go up to the point where she reported the air was getting too thin to breathe. Estimates of her flying speeds were delayed as she kept running into problems with the five-minute limit. It looked though as if she were most comfortable with a speed estimated at about 75kph.

All in all, very intriguing. Intriguing enough that the Hokage was rolling his eyes as the discussion rolled around him. That the conversations among the jonin and leaders of the village would end up as some crazy sort of compromise that not only satisfied no one but would actively piss some people off was inevitable and normal.

One DID surprise him though. Danzo moved to have Hinata AND Naruto put into a small apartment together until they had children on the way. Though it might not be too surprising given that Danzo might then be able to raise and control the children with such abilities.

As for the team assignments, those had been worked out before the 'pactio' ability had come to life. Naruto would be on Team 7 under Kakashi. Hinata would be on Team 8 under Yuhi.

However, you didn't need to be Hokage to see that both teams would meet regularly in the course of their missions.

"Rough night still bothering you?" asked Tsunade as Shizune shakily reached for the soy sauce. "You ready to talk about it yet?"

"It was just an odd dream," said Shizune.

"Yeah, I had one of those myself," said Tsunade, eyeing her subordinate. "Not in any pain are you?"

"No, I'm not hurt," said Shizune. "Just... a very odd dream."

Tsunade knew from the reaction that Shizune had not seen her own death. That she was clear of that horror at least. Still, as she'd promised that golden fox, if she saw any sign that Shizune was going to suffer a fate like that - Tsunade would paralyze her and force a pactio with that snot-nosed brat.

Tsunade had also spent much of the time thinking about the various meanings of that dream. She suspected that Shizune's dream had contained a similar conversation with the golden fox-being. She also knew darn well that the fox in that dream had NOT been the Demon-fox that had destroyed most of the village. Minato's defeat of the Demon Fox had involved sealing part of the Demon away.

It could be any number of things. It could have a number of meanings. It likely was NOT restricted to herself and Shizune. Unfortunately, there was only one place to get answers.

Which meant tomorrow she'd end up having to return to the Hidden Leaf.
