"A 'little'?" asked the Ninetails.
"Well, ever since I saw it in an Evangelion timeline, I've wanted to use the 'Halleliuah Chorus,'" admitted Toltiir. "This was the first chance I saw."
"I don't think this world has an organized religion," said the Ninetails. "They have a form of ancestor worship if anything."
"Yes, well, at least things are back on track now," said Toltiir. "The foreign ninja turned up back home, safe and sound."
"Naked and driven insane, babbling about celestial choirs and laughing cats," pointed out the Ninetails. "I saw what you did. As for normal, take a look at things now."
Sasuke Uchiha leapt, not caring about the oohs and ahhs of the girls watching. That they admired him was normal, he WAS the Uchiha after all, but nothing to concern himself over. It was time to work on THIS jutsu, that was the major concern.
"FIREBALL JU-!" began Sasuke, beginning the sending of a blast of flame at the target, "TS-ACHOOOOOOOOO!"
Oops.
Naruto had been grumbling and practicing with his kunai. Not grumbling because everyone was watching Sasuke, the rising star, the Uchiha, the number one talent. Not grumbling because Hinata, the only girl that was on HIS side, was being kept away and busy by her father. Not grumbling because he could work hard too and got ZERO credit for it.
Female screams managed to penetrate the grumbling.
Naruto turned and leapt and ran towards it. He took in the shocked "I can't believe it" stance from Sasuke, but his main attention was where someone was ON FIRE?!
Water splashed out, Iruka-sensei responding by dousing the girl and quenching the flames.
She collapsed, moaning and crying from the pain but sufficiently ninja-tough that she hadn't passed out from the pain yet.
At which point Naruto reached her, reached within himself, and let the healing flow.
There wasn't a celestial chorus this time, no musical accompaniment. Just the glowing blue-white wings which spread out and then circled protectively around Naruto and the girl.
The girl sagged, fading almost into unconsciousness, feeling the raw pain altering to a cool and soothing sensation.
As she began to collapse from events, she saw her savior and wondered why she'd never noticed that Naruto had a certain cuteness about him before.
Iruka watched as the still-smouldering burns faded to become fresh new skin. The clothing didn't repair itself, and Naruto still collapsed as he had when he'd healed Hinata, so it wasn't a 'fix everything' technique.
Which was just as well, actually.
A number of the students, including Sasuke, stared at Naruto as if seeing him in a new light.
"I don't get it, how can something as powerful as you be taken by surprise," complained the Fox.
"I'm just a fragment, and I don't 'see all' - which is pretty boring anyway," said Toltiir. "I usually just nudge things and watch to see how they'll turn out. Micromanaging anything gets boring fast."
"Want to make a bet that Naruto gets a new fangirl out of this?" asked the Ninetails.
"I'm not omniscient, doesn't mean I take sucker bets," said Toltiir, noting that the burned-now-healed girl was none other than:
