Sakura looked as if she'd had some serious nightmares or something. She looked exhausted before they'd even started anything and she was glaring at Naruto as if he'd done something personally insulting to her. She was looking at Sasuke like a dog who'd been beaten and who didn't understand why.
Naruto looked restless, confused, and like his focus was off. He kept looking at his Hinata card, his Social Links book, and occasionally at the card with the Akamaru/Kiba design.
Then there was Sasuke, who looked as if someone had shoved something up his butt and broken it off. A main course of annoyed with a side of disgusted.
"Why am I with these two losers?" asked Sasuke as soon as Kakashi showed up.
"Why aren't I with Hinata and Kiba?" asked Naruto unexpectedly.
Sakura merely covered her mouth as she yawned.
Kakashi blinked. When had he done that?
"Yeah, this is so boring," said another Naruto. "We getting back to the game?"
"I am NOT playing you," said Sasuke.
"That's right, Sasuke is too cool to play card games!" said Sakura.
"I have a very bad feeling about this test," said Kakashi Hayate to anyone who might be listening.
"Okay, okay, let's get this test over with so I can put in for a transfer," said Naruto.
"You hear that, Sasuke, Naruto will leave and we can be alone then!" said Sakura.
"You CAN'T transfer," said Kakashi, wondering if Iruka often got headaches like this.
"Well, heck," grumbled Naruto.
"Today's test is to get these bells from my belt," said Kakashi over Naruto's grumbling. "You have until noon, and you'll probably have to come after me with killing intent to accomplish it."
"Why?" asked Naruto.
"Because if you can't, you fail," said Kakashi. "You'll have to go back to the Academy. You'll also have to do without lunch."
"Well, that bites, Hinata made me a big lunch, I was thinking I'd have to share with everyone," said Naruto, pointing at a large pack.
"You weren't supposed to bring a lunch," said Kakashi Hayate.
"Hey, I hadn't planned to, but when she showed up in the morning with it, and she started in on how she'd made it... well..." Naruto's voice trailed off and he rubbed the back of his head with an embarassed look. "I just couldn't say 'no', you know."
"Hopeless," said Sasuke.
Kakashi considered briefly but had to privately admit that refusing a handmade lunch from one's fiancee was probably borrowing more trouble than any starting ninja would want.
"Naruto's so irresponsible, right Sasuke?" asked Sakura.
"So, when I say start," said Kakashi, rolling his single visible eye, "you have to come after me to try and take the bells. Strike to kill, otherwise you have no chance at all."
"Oh," said Naruto, settling into a stance. "If that's the way you want it."
"Two bells, three ninja," noted Sasuke. "So only two get to eat eh?"
"Ahhh," said Sakura, picturing hand-feeding Sasuke while Naruto was tried to a pole and forced to watch. "That's great!"
Kakashi shook his head slightly. Yes, he had serious doubts about this group.
"Mrf. You said Hinata made this?"
"Yeah, this stuff is great."
Sasuke nodded. "Yeah. You should see the brownies someone keeps dropping off at my place. I think they qualify as a ninja weapon."
