Match-Ups 101 - Ogami Kagekidan: Bigger Plate Required [Episode 221362]

by Yasanagi

After the initial surprise, Ogami took the time to explain as much as he could remember about that dream where he appeared in some sort of cosmic game show hosted by a woman with unusual spirit powers. "I really didn't see any strange behaviour before I had that dream. Honestly, I can't tell what that woman's motives are for doing what she did."

Kaede took a moment to reflect on this. "Nobody sensed anything so either she is far more advanced in concealing her presence or she used some other method to execute her plan that we couldn't detect with standard procedures. This is a dangerous situation, Ogami-kun. We don't know anything about her or what she wants."

"What should I do?" asked Ogami.

"I suggest consulting with the Yumegumi first. They may be able to track down your mystery woman better than we can. Talk to Kayama-kun as well. Perhaps he can dig something up on her identity in this world. In the meantime, you must tread cautiously in your interactions with the Hanagumi since we don't know exactly what that mystery woman did to them."

He nodded before standing up and giving a salute. "Thank you for your help, ma'am!"

"It's the least I can do... although I wonder if my sister would have been able to do more if she were still with us." There was a distant look in Kaede's face as the memory of Ayame surfaced.

"You're doing fine, ma'am. I'm sure she would be proud."

This caused Kaede to smile a little. "Thank you for your words, Ogami-kun. Anyways, you better get going before someone comes in here and gets the wrong idea."

Normally, he didn't really interact with the other divisions too often as his hands were quite full just dealing with the Hanagumi and looking after them. He wasn't sure what to expect when he would pay a visit to the Yumegumi and ask them for their services in tracking down that woman in the game show.

But dealing with that would have to wait for he had a lot of other things on his plate. "Y-you really didn't have to prepare such a huge breakfast for me, Maria-kun."

Literally.

"Taichou, there is a Russian saying that goes 'eat breakfast yourself, share dinner with a friend but give supper to your enemy!' Essentially, breakfast is considered as the most important meal of the day in Russia and should be eaten, not shared or given away." Maria clearly emphasized those last few points to drive off any thoughts Ogami was having of sharing his generous portions of blini, the Russian equivalent of pancakes, with the others, especially Kanna and Erica. There was sour cream and a variety of jams available for him to use on the blini.

'Great... now I gotta add Maria-kun to the list as well.' While he knew of her cooking ability, breakfast was usually prepared by Kanna. So it was a rare surprise that Maria was up early to prepare a traditional Russian breakfast just for him. Some of the others seemed rather surprised by this display of behaviour, even irritated that they didn't think of doing this earlier (the look on the faces of Orihime and Glycine was too much for words to describe which instantly made Ogami add them to the list).

There was only one thing left to do now.

"Itadakimasu!"

As he dug in, he hoped that the infirmary had some medicine to help deal with an upset stomach and indigestion. He was probably going to need it.
