Though she dressed (usually) in a manner of a Shinto priestess, she was familiar with honkyoku. If the spirit/presence she felt could be drawn by such things, she could ascertain what its desires were.
After one try, she ended up rinsing the flute out. That required priming a pump and getting water. That required finding something to put the water in.
This place did NOT include furniture and the amount of equipment Ranma and Genma had was NOT very great.
"Whatcha doing?" asked Ranma as he saw the white-haired slavegirl wandering around with the flute in hand at one point.
"Trying to find and placate a lingering spirit of this place," answered Miyabi as she continued to search. "Ah, a bucket."
"Uh huh," said Ranma, scratching his head as Miyabi went off with the bucket. "Yo, Synclavier. Can you help me with this? Just hold this while I move the support around."
Once at what she judged the best point, and the clogging dust had been removed from the old flute, Miyabi began to play in the manner of the old komusou style priests. Though she wasn't going to cover her head with a basket. It made seeing things around her a bit more difficult after all, and if the spirit showed up to fight it would put her at an immediate disadvantage.
It wasn't until she hit the first discordant note that there was a manifestation. It was NOT what she had expected though.
WHANG!
Synclavier and Ranma appeared almost instantly.
"What hap..." Synclavier's voice trailed off.
"The spirit manifested a large washtub and dropped it on me," explained Miyabi as she rubbed the top of her head and looked unhappily around her.
Her eyes caught a glimpse of presence, and she realized the ghost was:
