“As you command,” spake Dark Genie Mars as she turned on Saturn.
“Mars!?” Saturn pleaded. “Whatever's happened you can fight it, I know you can.”
“So kind of you to be concerned,” Mars observed as she ignited a ball of fire in one hand, “but I'd be more concerned for yourself.” Then she ignited a ball of dark energy in the other hand. “Wiseman has shown me the power of the dark. Even you will not stand against our combined power.” Bringing her hands together she melded the opposing energies into one wildly sputtering sphere, which was tossed with a yell of “Dark Fire Ball Ignition!”
Ryoga covered his eyes with one hand as the attack exploded around Saturn's form. When he lowered his arm, Saturn and Ranma stood untouched within a smoking crater. The air around then shimmered as Mars tossed small black and orange fireballs at the wall of silence.
“Come out of there, you coward!” Ryoga yelled.
“Don't worry, Master,” Mars sneered at her naive young ‘master’. “Saturn cannot keep that up for long. In many ways she is the weakest of us, not the strongest. She'd never use her attack against me.”
Inside the barrier, Saturn observed, “she's stronger that I remember.”
“Feh. Remember your training.” Ranma advised. “Look at the way she moves. You can take her.”
Saturn looked and suddenly saw what Ranma meant. The warrior genie considered themselves to be true warriors, but their greatest and only weapon was their magic. Mars was fighting, as Genma and Ranma dispariagingly called it, like a girl.
“Come out and fight like a man!” Ryoga yelled.
“On the count of three,” Ranma whispered. “I don't fight like a man ...”
“... and I don't fight like a girl ...” Saturn responded and braced herself. She raised her hand and dropped the shield.
“Mars Fire Sniper!” the dark genie brought her magic to bear in triumph.
“... we fight like a Team,” Ranma concluded as she sprang into the air, grabbed Saturn's wrists and pulled her up and out of the way of the oncoming blast.
“... we fight like martial artists!” Saturn sang in exhileration.
“Anything Goes!” they corussed and landed, back to back, between their opponents.
