Sasuke glared at Naruto. "I'm Sasuke Uchiha. I don't have anything I particularly like, and I don't have a need for an animal partner. I have no dream, merely the ambition to kill a certain someone and rebuild my clan."
"Vul Vul!"
"Vulpix says she's Vivi Vulpix, that's short for Vivacious," translated Naruto.
"I'm Sakura Haruno," said the girl, with much blushing and looks at Sasuke. "My ambition is... and my dream is... and I dislike cute little critters, things that try to eat me, acid-spitting snakes, and girls with evil laughs - particularly snake users!"
"My name is Naruto Uzumaki, I wanna be Hokage and train Vulpix here to the ultimate evolution possible! Believe it! I like ramen. My signature moves are kage bunshin and long-range teleport."
"Good," said Kakashi.
"By the way, Sakura, the medics healed you of those acid burns, does that mean you're ready for a pokemon of your own?"
"Shut UP, Naruto!"
"It'd help if you ever run into that snake-girl again, you know," pointed out Naruto.
"I..." Sakura frowned as that WAS a very good point. "I'll think about it."
"There's one that even requested you," said Naruto, who flinched when Sakura raised a fist and looked threatening. "Just mentioning it. Something to keep in mind."
Sakura frowned. "What kind? Not a snake is it?"
"No, no, plant type!" said Naruto, getting out his pokedex and clicking a few buttons before showing the screen to Sakura. "See?"
Turtwig, the Tiny Leaf Pokémon. Its shell is made of earth and when it absorbs water, it becomes harder.
"I'll think about it," said Sakura after seeing the thing in the viewfinder.
"Great," said Naruto, putting his pokedex away.
"Okay," said Kakashi. "Tomorrow is your next test."
"Next test?!" asked Sakura. "I thought we were done with testing!"
"You made genin," said Kakashi. "Now is the test to see if you really graduate and can become full-fledged ninja. Oh, and don't eat anything for breakfast, you'll just throw it up. Right, Houndour?"
"Dour!" agreed Houndour.
