Of course, he was especially happy that they were being accepted by the school. Being able to have them around would certainly help him, given as they no longer had to sneak about if they needed to come to him. It might just be that they had to give him his lunch, or it could be that they had to be there to help fight an enemy, but the antics that came about when they were trying to be... secretive could be bothersome, if nothing else.
He just had to wonder where exactly they had gone off to, and he rubbed the back of his head as he looked around, hoping that they weren't getting into some form of trouble wherever they were.
As she was led towards the dojo, Sakura blinked at the sound of wood clashing against wood. The first few strikes were not easy to place, but as she came closer to her destination, she began to realize just what it was that she was hearing. Spotting the building that the boys with her were heading for, she immediately recognized what would be behind the sliding door.
And she found that she was completely correct as she saw various students pairing off for matches, with bokken clashing against each other, and bokuto held ready to be used.
The first boy grinned as he held a hand out to gesture for her to proceed in. "Well, what do you think?"
"It's a... kendo dojo!" she declared, a happy smile spreading across her features. "It's a true training hall...."
"Dunno 'bout that, but we do have matches and everything," a second boy told her as he adjusted the tie on his hakama.
"Really? No fights?"
"Well... That's not supposed to be the point, but they don't skimp on the training. They even go with kenjutsu and quick draw techniques."
"Iaido? They have iaido here?" she murmured, clasping her hands together.
"Uh... yeah."
"Do you think that you'll like this?" the first boy asked.
She didn't say anything, but anyone seeing how Sakura's eyes sparkled at that moment couldn't mistake what her answer would be.
Normally, teachers weren't supposed to be excitable or giddy. Nor were they supposed to be too involved with the students, as that could lead to all sorts of personal problems that were not acceptable. Fortunately, it hadn't gotten that far, but no one could quite ignore the fact that Mister Sakuraga was rather happy at the moment.
That might have had something to do with the fact that Kohran was currently running about and peering over all the machinery that his class had to work with. After having so many students go about without any real desire to do more than to pass his class, here was someone who actually /liked/ the technical bits. From the drill press to the circuit sets, she seemed to like it all. Heck, she even seemed to like the older equipment, patting a saw like it was a fond old workhorse.
"Don't you worry," she commented. "You will be fixed up and made better than you were. Harder, better, faster, stronger...."
If there was a better time to be a shop teacher and club adviser, Mister Sakuraga didn't know.
"You were the one who wanted to invite her in," grumbled one boy as he sat watching what was going on before him.
His companion gave him a sour glance before turning back to join in the watching. "As I remember, so did you."
"Yeah, but...."
"Well, she /is/ strong, and we know that she can fight."
"I know, and I did think that she could get into the martial arts," the first boy allowed.
"And she did. Karate, judo, kenpo... she does them all."
"Which was what we know we'd wanted from her. I mean, a tall girl with long legs, a big chest, and a tight rear...."
"All of which you can get to rub up against you," the second boy agreed, and then sent a mocking grin as a flying body sailed over their heads. "You just have to try and not get beaten up before hand."
Slumping just a bit, the first boy looked over at the pokegirl that he'd wanted as the karate club's 'mascot' as she stood showing that she more than certainly belonged there on her own merits.
"C'mon, I thought that you guys were going to show me how tough you were! Aren't you stronger than this?" Kanna muttered as she let go of the shirt of the barely conscious boy she'd just defeated, letting him fall down to join the others currently laying on the floor groaning.
"No, no, no! This simply will /not/ do!" Sumire insisted, scowling at the head of the Drama club.
The boy in question slapped the rolled up script he was holding into the palm of his free hand. "You were the one who said that you wanted to join us! So, what's the problem!"
"Well, I simply can not work under these conditions!"
"We haven't even started yet!"
"So?"
"Listen, all we have are high school students, and we're hoping that you can get along with us," he told her, grinding his teeth as he did so.
"Oh, that isn't the problem."
"Huh? What?"
The fox type peered over her shoulder at him with a bland look in her eyes. "I'm envisioning real shows here, and if we have a staff who understands their place, then why can't we go for it?"
"What exactly do you want?"
"Better stage lighting, to begin with. And we'll have to see about getting a better sound system. These curtains will simply have to be replaced...."
Confusion settling over him, the Drama club president could only blink at her as she mused about changes to his stage.
Those in the room held their breath as they wondered what the blonde would do. Her expression was cool and calm, but all of those watching were feeling the tension in the air like it was a press pushing down on all of them. It was something that they were used to in competitions but right now that was what it seemed to be. What had been started as a mere welcoming game had quickly become something more, which was rather amazing, considering the unexpected nature of it.
Quietly and respectfully, Maria picked up a shogi tile and placed it on another space.
"Amazing. Such a tactical fighter," murmured one voice for all the other boys.
Iris wasn't too sure that she understood a lot about the whole need for this club experience thing, but she knew one thing about it. Being in a club could be a lot of fun. The students with her did seem to like her, and they weren't treating her little she was a baby. That alone would have been nice, but she was getting to enjoy what she was doing.
Of course, she rather thought that she should have been doing more than making origami swans fly, but it was amusing to see.
Giggling to herself, she wondered which paper animals she could get to sail around next, while:
