The thin were-tigress shrugged and rolled her eyes at the lack of good fortune. She sighed and grabbed the shoulder strap of her shirt to slip it back over her shoulder from where it had fallen.
She regretted not having been there for the party.
Really regretted it. Really really regretted.
She'd had something of a crush on the boy sense she'd been a kitten, the runt of the litter in fact. He'd always been really nice to her when she'd wandered into the palace. But, if he was happy she wasn't going to push on it.
"Though if he WANTS me to come along," Catseye said. "My answer is certainly yes."
Catseye did not make a very impressive weretigress. At least not with a few of Iceron's breed hanging around, next to them she looked almost like a child. Even for her own breed she was...odd. Her hybrid form was too human looking, she was still too small, and she stayed in hybrid form far too much of the time for the comfort of the other faerun weretigers.
She didn't have the bulging muscles, huge chest or towering height of the Iceron weres, but she was quite agile, sleek and elegant. A perfect thi...err...divine investigator.
"The problem is my temple," Catseye said. "And their faithful. You see they're all up and arms about this multiple marriage thing and me NOT being included."
"So why you in particular?" the minister asked.
"Because," Catseye said. "I've known him since I was a kid and..." and here she started to blush under her fur. "My particular breed and my family are known to be...fertile."
"How fertile?" the minister asked out of morbid curiousity.
"I'm the youngest of a litter of three," Catseye said shuffling. "Out of four litters. Eighteen siblings in all."
"Ah," the minister said, turning embarrased himself.
"So, anyway," Catseye said. "At first they seemed rather laid back about this, but now it's like they're all taking it as an insult or something. And my people aren't the only ones getting uptight about it."
"The elves mentioned sending a someone," the minister agreed.
"Yeah, Jaereel was telling me this morning that she had the same problems going on," Catseye said speaking of Jaereel Silverbow, the arcane archer. "And I think that medusa-harpy girl is being pressured by the miscellaney."
She looked to the minister and noticed a familiar expression on his face. She frowned and practically growled, narrowing her eyes bitterly.
"I take archery lessons from her every morning," Catseye said.
"Huh?" the man asked blinking. Then he realized what she noticed and wiped the semi-leer of his face.
"I did not sleep with her," Catseye reiterated.
Really, it was bizarre. Just because werecats liked sensual pleasures of every kind, people always thought that everything was sexual with them.
The fact that Jaereel was an elf didn't help matters. After all, the elven love goddess had seemingly had an affair with every other god and goddess of the elves (and a few other races, such as Bast) with the exception of Eilistrae. So everybody figured they were all bisexual or something.
Then again, if Jaereel had asked, Catseye would have probably thought about it at least. But there was a principle involved that said her business was her business. Period.
"Anyway," Catseye said. "My name is officially still put forward for consideration. They're sending the official delegations tomorrow, but Jae and I thought Ranma should know before then. Oh...and Jae wants to pass on to Ranma that he better not have been slipping on his practice hours."

"This was a wonderful plan, Delilah," one of the eryines declared with a girlish giggle. "Get only some of the marriage candidates in bed with him. Heh. Very good."
"Now we just wait for the kingdom to destroy itself," Delilah agreed with an evil smile.
