FutureKen: Wild Horses (couldn't drag her away) [Episode 223447]

by Kestral

There were purely robot-looking robots, who had absolutely no opinion on the matter of a Companion role. They were the most inhuman of robots physically and mentally, being intended for a number of purposes but human interaction hadn't been high on the list.

The various male-styled humanoid robots had a few opinions about the whole thing, but settled down to just interjecting the occasional comment and general bemusement.

That left the female-shaped humanoid robots, from the vaguely humanoid to the nearly-indistinguishable-from-human. There were a LOT of these. The societies which had produced them had found the female form to be artistically as well as psychologically pleasing.

The common factor of humanoid stylings was human interaction. Being greeted on entering a store by the doorway itself was, in psychological terms, empty and meaningless. Having a cute girl in a uniform who could greet customers and direct them to the aisle they wanted was much better.

The crowd surrounding Roll included soldier girls (from a base), tavern wenches (from a theme park), waitress models (from various restaurants and bars and cafes), maids (from households and factories), and dozens of other types. All of which were bored and had been contemplating shutting down until Ranma had kids before this latest twist had occurred.

"Downloading specifics of upgrade... oh no. This will never do," said a waitress. "He'll be a teenager by then. Flat is SO unappealing."

"It's NOT flat," protested Roll. "Those are a comfortable size without sacrificing combat response and speed."

"Oh, come on," said a wench-type. "We can improve this!"

"No, waitaminute," said Roll as various female-styled robots started on the ancient human tradition of the 'makeover' for all that they were using something akin to a CAD program and mechanical engineering software.

"I don't understand," said Ranma as he watched Roll get hauled off.

"I don't think you are meant to," said Rock. "References to human society indicate that men don't understand women, while women are falsely convinced they understand men."

"Oh, so this is normal?" asked Ranma.

"As I understand it, yes," agreed Rock. "So - sparring or eating?"

"Eating, I'm a bit hungry," admitted Ranma.
