Ranma looked around him with a frown. All day long, he had seen people whispering and pointing in their direction.
"Hey, Daria, Do ya know why everyone's whispering and pointing at us?"
Daria looked up from the book she was reading and glanced around before shaking her head.
"Hmm. No clue. You have any idea Jane?" Getting no response, she looked over to see Jane poking at her lunch and mumbling to herself.
"Jane?" Ranma tried.
Blinking Jane looked up. "Huh? Oh, uh, don't know. Hey do you guys know what this stuff is? She asked, indicating the yellow tinted slop on her plate.
Ranma and Daria looked down and could of sworn they saw the stuff shudder.
Both shook there head no and raised the bagged lunches they brought.
Sighing, Jane pushed her plate away and snagged an apple Ranma had pulled out of his lunch bag and took a bite.
Chewing thoughtfully, she swallowed, glanced around then spoke. "Everyone's doing the same thing to your sister too, Daria."
Looking across the cafeteria, Ranma and Daria could see that Jane was right. She was sitting by herself and doing her best to ignore everyone, but it looked like she was close to breaking down.
