"I WILL NOT !"
The Lich King and Brendan were still caught in their argument when the undead mage felt a cold chill along his spine, as if his bones felt a premonition of doom. He mad an imperious gesture which made Brendan pause in puzzlement and his secretaries to come to attention. Then he turned his back to the ghost werewolf and started an incantation.
A sphere of pure darkness emerged from the ground and floated to him, stopping at eye level. The darkness cleared to show a scene happening in a certain sailor senshi of death and destruction's house. The Lich King frowned, recognizing many of the people present in the vision granted by his clairvoyance spell "Oh look... The whole family's here ! Along with the Edge Guard, Jetta, some local heroes and... a werecheetah !? Interesting..."
Brendan had been putting a show of disinterest during the Lich King's incantation but one word caught his attention *My daughter is here ?*
"Interesting in what way, boss ?" Maharet licked her lips. That werecheetah looked... yummy, yes. For his blood or body, she couldn't decide.
"That boy is carrying two major artifacts if my aura senses are not mistaken. Not to mention that my granddaughter Britanny is supposed to be the last werecheetah" He scratched his chin "What the !? Sailor Moon's power source grafted itself to him ?"
Dark Weaver scowled "The boy is dangerous, I feel it" She felt other things by looking at him too. Her spider mating instincts seemed to have been kicked into overdrive "I shall deal with him... Drain him dry of all his fluids" Fluids are good.
"Oy ! I think I hafta deal wi' de whelp myself..." Phillipa thought that it would be a waste of good prime beef. Now, making him a vampire sounded better. Why ? Rigor Mortis, man. Rigor Mortis.
Maharet added her two cents "No, let me do it, boss. I'm sure I can 'persuade' him to join us" The secretaries glared at each other and let their displeasure known.
"MINE !"
"MINE !"
"MINE !"
"SILENCE !" The Lich King screamed "There will be no infighting here ! I need you to attack Mugen Gakuen with me ! Someone else will have to deal with those interlopers"
Brendan's voice cracked like thunder "I'll do it !"
The Lich King turned back to look at the ghost werewolf "Ho ? And what, pray tell, made you change your mind ?"
Brendan smirked "My daughter, Jetta, is with them. If you allow me to have my vengeance, I'll help you !"
"Good... You'll need a few things before that" The Lich King made a magic gesture. The Space Sword and the Soul Mirror floated to him "Hmm... These pathetic trinkets will never do..." He took a few heart crystals from inside his chest and used them to power yet another spell.
Eldritch energy coursed between the Lich King's hands, the heart crystals and the two talismans. Their forms slowly changed, reshaped by Jade's superior aura magic and the Undead Plane's necromancy. Soon, it was over and the two magical items had been transformed into superior versions of themselves.
The Lich King laughed at the sight of his handiwork. The Space Sword, while it had looked like a silly toy sword before, was now a wicked-looking scimitar oozing necromantic power. The Soul Mirror was now a metal shield whose surface was as reflective as a mirror.
The two 'super-talismans' floated to Brendan who took them and made a few experimental swings. He grinned, knowing that these weapons would help him get his revenge.
"The sword is now a life draining weapon. Since you're technically a ghost, it will replenish your energy each time you wound or kill someone living. If you're already at full power, you can use the energy you've drained to launch vacuum slashes. As for the shield, it will reflect spells and energy attacks back to the sender"
"Very nice..." Agreed Brendan.
The Lich King snapped his fingers and some of his zombies responded to the implied call "Take these with you. While you fight the Diggers and the others, I will secure Mugen Gakuen as my powerbase" He looked fondly at Eudial's heart crystal "And you, my dear, will help me"
