Hsien-Ko was lost in thought as she watched her young charge sleep. It had happened so long ago. She had traded her own freedom to give her sister a better life, she had been the enforcer of the small but powerful dragon to earn a second wish.
The first one allowed darkstalkers the world over to blend in seamlessly with humans preventing many wars. The second wish was so that her sister could find the man of her dreams and lead a good fulfilling life. She had watched from afar as it was done. There were some perks of course to being the small being's enforcer. She had pinpoint control of her powers now and only rarely needed to drink blood. She wondered just how Mei-Ling was, or if she even remembered her.
She absently used one of her long claws as a poker to stir the fire a little watching the embers flare and crack. She smiled as Ranma stirred a little in his sleep. Apparently the little dragon had a powerful sense of morality and felt she had pretty much fulfilled her part of the bargain. She had her freedom back on the condition she raise the child before her. Apparently this was a young man who could make or break the world. It also had dropped the hint that this had a good chance of leading her back to her sister. That was one of the most powerful motivators she had.
She wondered absently just how such a lazy, good for nothing fool could have sired such a prodigy. She absently wondered what had happened to him. Not that she cared.

Genma was hungry, breathing hard and still pulling webs out of uncomfortable places. His training with the 'shivers' master had snapped him awake at the first spider nibble and he had used the Umisen-ken to confuse the spider woman and sneak away. Currently it looked like he had a head of long white hair with all the webs he hadn't bothered to remove. His stomach growled.
"Damn I'm getting hungry. I'm sick of all these monsters too, I need to get back to the boy and make sure he get's me a good retirement!" he swore out loud and he heard a sort of sigh from all around him. It sounded like that blasted dragon! "Come on out you stupid snake freak! I'll kill you for taking away my boy!" he snarled then the nearby area went black and he passed out.

"Wakey, wakey or get hit by a stakey!" Hsien-Ko chanted chucking an enormous spear at the sleeping Ranma who rolled over neatly dodging it. She chuckled at this, she had started training this skill of his by pelting him with pebbles as he slept moving up more and more as he got better. She was fairly certain that he could dodge bullets in a coma at this stage. "Alright fun's over pipsqueak get up or you get less breakfast." she said knowing his buttons.
"Breakfast?" Ranma asked using the spear to pull himself upright. "Hunh, only one?" the thirteen year old asked.
"Yep now come on, there's a flock of ducks nearby." she said and Ranma licked his lips.
"What's the plan? Jerky, Rotisserie, Baked, Stew, something else?" Ranma asked as he followed her to a nearby pond and sure enough at the opposite end a bunch of ducks were eating as much as they could.
"I was thinking clay pot." she said and they both raised their arms and a few arrows shot outwards skewering six ducks. "Nice, aim for the necks though, you don't want them to suffer do you?" she asked as one of the ducks was grounded with it's wing pinned to it's side. She silenced it with an arrow to the neck killing it instantly.
"Sorry, my aim was a little off." he said scratching the back of his neck in embarrassment. He had gotten the other two through the heart but he missed that one by a hair.
"It's alright. It's told me just what we need to work on though." she said smiling and he grinned back. They soon had four ducks baking with herbs and honey slathered over them inside clay pots with wild onions and potatoes in a low burning but hot fire. The other two were in strips over a smoky one. Hsien-Ko was using small paint balls to mark leaves and Ranma had a split second to hit the same leaf with a stick thrown like an arrow. He was spot on half the time, a quarter of the time he missed entirely and the rest of the time he was a little off. Not by much but was still off.
"Think fast!" Hsien-Ko shouted and sent a dark blue almost black energy ball towards Ranma who spun around still shooting out his practice arrows and kicked the ball right back at her where she shattered it with ease. "Very Good! Soon you'll be ready for anything!" she shouted still marking off leaves as he did his level best to keep up.
They finished a few hours later and started eating when Hsien-Ko noticed something in Ranma's aura, it was changing, meaning he was starting to change! "Ranma your aura! Do you feel anything!?" she asked concerned.
He thought long and hard before opening his mouth. "Well...
