Not that she looked forward to explaining to Genma, Akane, or Soun how she knew so much about the summoning arts. No, they'd get a carefully edited version of her story. She'd fill in Ranma and Kasumi in private. I wonder if Ranma can get us in a three-way dream. No way anyone could overhear us then. That idle thought was squashed quickly as Nabiki considered just what a dream with her sister and a succubus would likely entail, or at least imply. OK, bad idea, Nabs.
Ranma spared a few seconds to laugh at the transgendered panda that was his father before he was back on the defensive and jumping away from retaliation.
Hm, he thought. Kasumi's cooking, Soun's watching, so Nabs is probably just waking up and Akane will be down...now. Ranma flashed his father a 'hold' sign as Akane announced her presence.
Genma was confused. This early into a spar, with Ranma still able to stand, there was no real reason to stop. Rather than teach the boy the importance in training, he held back to watch what he was doing.
"Yo, Akane!" the sometimes-boy called. "Up for some mornin' practice?"
Genma's eyes widened. The boy was training Akane? The panda's eyes unfocused as he ran that through his tiny brain, looking for a rational explanation.
Akane looked like she was going to retort for a moment but bit it back and tried for a smile. "Not right now, Ranma. We'd be late for school for sure if I changed into my gi."
Ranma was stunned. She's cute when she smiles. Then he punched left.
Genma was stunned. How can she turn down TRAINING!? He stalked forward to force the girl to practice...even if she was a girl and therefor unworthy of it.
Akane was stunned. How did Ranma know his father was going to walk into that punch?
There was a great deal of stunned. And a new case of unconcious. All too soon, it was time to go to school.
As she passed the ward on the outer wall, Nabiki grimaced. We can only hope whoever did that gave up. She smiled slightly; the amount of backwash the wards indicated would have wrecked anything short of a summoning circle tied into a ley line, and that much power would have broken the wards in a heartbeat. Even if he hasn't, it'll be a while before he can try again.
