Even then, there was something to the tone of her voice that made Rei stop and narrow her gaze at the blonde. "What exactly is it that you're thinking there?"
"It's a way to not only make Ami stop being all caught up in her brother," Usagi chirped, poking one finger out as if jabbing her point, "and making sure that she and Mako-chan will just have to talk!"
"We can't just force them to do what they don't want to do."
"But that's the beauty of it! We won't have to!"
"Huh? You ceased making sense before you opened your mouth," the raven haired girl grumbled, giving a snort of disgust.
"Ah, you're just being mean. It's a good plan, and I'm sure that it'll work."
"Good for you. I still don't know what this brilliant idea is supposed to be anyway."
Flushing slightly, the reincarnated princess ducked her head. "Right. I didn't tell you, did I?"
"Well, it seemed that you were too busy congratulating yourself to explain this idea of yours."
"Come on, I'm trying." A small pout on her lips, Usagi huffed before speaking again. "It's like this. We just have to get Ranma and Makoto to start dating."
"What? Who? Each other?"
"Of course we'd have them go out with each other. What else would we do?"
"I don't know.... How's about we actually think about this?" Rei muttered.
"Exactly. And it's not like it'd be a big fight to get it started. I can tell that Makoto does like him already."
"That might be the problem."
Obviously confused right then, Usagi turned to blink at her friend. "Why would that be?"
"You really can't tell?"
"Pretty much."
"Probably should have known that," the shrine maiden sighed to herself. "So that means that you're going to go with this?"
"Uh-huh. If we get them together, than that means that Makoto will be able to be happy with him, and will make him unavailable for anyone else. Then Ami'll have to realize that there's no way that she can keep her brother all to herself, forcing her to let go of that 'complex' of hers. And if Makoto is dating Ami's brother, then they'll have to talk, which will give them the chance to make up."
"Why not merely... I don't know, talk to Doctor Mizuno? She is their mother, after all."
"Yeah, but we're their friends. It's up to us to help them no matter what!"
"To tell the truth, I suppose that there's something to that...." Rei allowed, knowing that supporting one's friends was important.
"Wonderful! I knew that you'd support me!"
"Huh?! Where did you get that idea?!"
"You just agreed that we have to help them out."
Sometimes the raven haired girl had to wonder about what sort of drunken silliness went on in her friend's head, and this one of those moments, while:
