Genma Saotome congratulated himself for a job well done. The last test he had done on his son confirmed the success of the recombinatory DNA splicing process. Now Ranma was an hybrid of human and an unknown alien lifeform. Surely, he would become a superior being. Give him a good ten years of martial arts training and he would be able to defeat the Master once and for all. Then he would marry one of Soun Tendo's daughters, take over his dojo and their retirement would be ensured.
Deciding it was an occasion worthy of celebration, Genma closed his laboratory and went to drink himself under the table in the nearest bar. Ranma was left alone, sleeping in a high-tech crib with various instruments monitoring his life signs.
A few hours later, he woke up. Ancient instinct inherited from his xenomorph DNA told him that captivity was a bad thing. He had to get out of there, survival was paramount. He tore the electrodes off and started to bang on the plexiglas separating him from freedom. He was stronger than a normal baby his age but that wasn't enough. Fortunately, Ranma had injured himself in the process. He observed, fascinated, his blood eat through the material. A few more drops of blood and he had made a hole big enough for him to escape.
When Genma returned with a hangover, he was surprised to see that his son was gone.
Then he was impressed by the fact that Ranma had gotten out of his laboratory unaided. That he was already able to crawl at his young age proved he had succeeded !
He was a little disturbed to find dead animals partially eaten on his son's trail. A witness told him that a savage toddler had attacked him viciously when he tried to help him. Now Genma was worried, his son seemed to behave like an animal.
When he found a piece of dead skin big enough to have been on a baby of Ranma's height (which meant he was moulting, meaning an accelerated growth), he cursed violently. How was he supposed to find him now ? Nodoka was going to kill him...
Meanwhile, an alien/human hybrid, who now looked like he was four years old, was prowling the streets of Tokyo with only one purpose in his mind : SURVIVE AT ANY COST.
