Whatever Lina was going to reply with was stopped as she cocked her head and listened to something.
"We'll talk about this later, Naga. I hear a fight going on and I think I recognize the voices."
Lina dashed off with Gourry right behind her. Sirius hesitated a bit as he saw Naga's face.
"If you want to blame someone, blame me. Your sister is needed to do something that can't be accomplished by anyone else. Lina really has nothing to do with it."
"Why?" Naga asked in a pain filled voice. "Why her?"
"I will let you sister explain. Now, we had better catch up with Lina and Gourry."
Naga nodded and the two of them raced after Lina.
They quickly came upon a clearing. Standing in the center of it were three men: two older men and a young man. They were surrounded by a group of trolls and beastmen. There were also some human bounty hunters also moving into position.
Gourry waved at the young man. "Hi, Zelgadis. Looks like you need a hand."
One of the bounty hunters piped up. "Stay out of this. Zelgadis and his companions are wanted by Rezo the Red Priest. We are going to collect the reward on him."
Gourry scratched his head. "He is? I thought Rezo was dead."
Lina slapped her forehead. "Goury, you idiot. Rezo is still alive and posessed by a Mazoku. Let's go get Zel out of trouble."
Lina's decleration stopped everyone in their tracks.
Dilgear stepped forward. "You don't expect be to believe that, do you? I work for Lord Rezo and will not allow such lies to be told of him. Who do you think you are?
Lina pointed to herself and smirked. "Me? I am the beautiful, young sorcery genius: Lina Inverse."
A lot of the humans started backing up as shouts went up.
"The natural enemy of all who live!?"
"The girl who leaves wreckage and chaos in her wake?!"
"The Dra-mata?!"
Lina yelled, "Give it a rest!"
Getting some composure, she pointed at Dilgear. "I don't care if you believe me or not. Zelgadis is needed for something and we really have no time for this. Go home little doggy."
While that exchange was going on, Zelgadis and his group had quickly made their way over to Lina's. Seeing Sirius, Zelgadis flinched a bit and sighed.
Muttering under his breath, Zelgadis said, "I can see what I'm needed for."
Sirius reached out and grasped Galvayra. As he did so, Lina stiffened up.
Releasing the bow of light, Sirius said, "I'll explain later. For now, I shall deal with this."
Sirius stepped forward and said. "I am Sirius. A Shinzoku from the overworld. Zelgaids is under my protection."
Lina shuddered and whispered. "That was weird. It felt like someone was holding me, when Sirius did that."
Sirius pointed at the ground in front of the various beings and moved his hand ina wide arc. A wall of energy exploded from the ground, forcing the various hunters back. A young fop charged Sirius from the right. The Shinzoku backhanded him and left him there.
Dilgera flinched back from the display of power and yelled, "You might have been lucky this time Zelgadis. But I'll be back."
Sirius said, "Let's go get Amelia."
Naga and Lina looked at the fop and then each other.
Naga said, "That's Jeffery."
"So it is," Lina agreed. "Let's get out of here."
The group of seven quickly left the area.
Lina shuddered a bit and said, "You said you'd explain later. It's later. I don't care if Naga knows or not, I want to know why I felt it when you grabbed Galvayra like that."
Sirius nodded. "Like humans, the five weapons are between dark and light. I am Shinzoku, so the energy that brought the weapons to this point didn't affect me like they did you."
"I noticed it at first with Gorun Nova. I passed it off as a side effect, since Gourry's family has held onto it for so long. When I saw Galvayra and now Rezud Mezegius, I relaized something else had happened."
Lina and Zelgadis started feel a bit worried as Sirius continued. "The weapons have bonded with you. They are now a part of you. Since humans can control dark and light because they exist between them, that is why they bonded."
Lina sighed. "And Amelia has Nezzard."
Naga looked at the bow starpped across Lina's back. She quickly performed an experiment.
"Freeze Brid."
Half of Galvyra was covered in ice and Lina started shivering. "Cold. So cold. Don't do that again, Naga."
Lina grabbed the bow off her back and broke the ice off of it. After soing so, she paused in confusion.
"Um. Sirius? Why don't I feel anything, when I grab the bow and do things with it?"
"Because it is a part of you."
Naga suddenly got a clear idea of why they needed to get to Amelia. "Amelia's bonded to another weapon like you are, right Lina?"
Still shaking, Lina glared at Naga. "Apparently so."
A flurry of emotions played across Naga's face. Finally firm resolve showed on her face. "I will not let my sister down."
Zelgadis dropped his mouth in shock. "Amelia's sister?"
"How do you know my sister?" Naga demanded.
Lina sighed and decided that Naga should know the truth, since her sister was involved.
"Let's keep moving. I'll explain everything."
As the group made their way to Seyruun, Lina decided to explain just what happened and some of the events that would have happened. Zolf and Rodimus were shocked to learn that the Mazoku posessing Rezo, was Shabranigdo himself and that they would have died fighting him. She left out the Giga-slave and Philospher's Stone from her story. Naga knew enough about Lina that she was hiding something, but decided to let it go for now. When she got to the reason why Sirius was here, Zolf, Rodimus, and Naga were stunned.
"Darkstar?" Naga whispered in shock. "You guys were fighting Darkstar?"
Sirius added, "Along with Vorpheed. Darkstar and Vorfeed have merged to destroy and recreate all four worlds. Only the five weapons can stop him."
"And my sister has been bonded with one of them," Naga said to herself. "Are there any other side effects to the bonding?"
Sirius shrugged. "The other four weapona should be bootsed, now that they are bonded with humans. The one I have still remains the same. As to Darksta and Vrofeed's goal, I have thought about it intently. When I passed through a villiage on this world, I saw an old builidng being destroyed, so a new one could be put up. The battle between the Mazoku and Shinzoku is like that. One tears something down, so the other can put something up. Those two want to undo everything. That is why we need to stop them."
Naga nodded and turned away, so no one could see the tear running down her cheek.
She whispered to herself, "I don't want my sister in any danger, but there is nothing I can do about that. All I can do is protect her when the time comes and help her achieve her goal." ---------------------------------------------------------------------- The Lord of Nightmares smiled as she saw what just occured.
"Sirius is one of the smarter Shinzoku. He spotted that little number I did on those four weapons and exactly what would happen. He also understands why the Shinzoku and Mazoku fight. Now if I can find a proper Mazoku, I can correct the Overworld."
