A healthy baby boy was delivered to Doctor and Missus Saotome; with a little extra DNA unknowingly donated from one Kal El (aka Clarke Kent).
Ranma, as the child was named, was doted on by his adoring mother and watched over carefully by his scientist father. Genma had theorised that the alien DNA was from some sort of Atlantean super humans and believed that slight edge would allow his son to survive training in learn advanced martial arts techniques at an early age.
As Ranma grew into a happy toddler, Genma took time off his lucrative research and development position to start home tutoring the boy in mathematics, science and martial arts. Like any proud parent, Genma was enjoyed showing off his son's progress under his tutelage. However, as Ranma entered his fifth year, even Genma's ego realised that his son's strength and speed far exceeded the parameters his training could account for.
When the boy's wild claims to be able to see through walls proved true, Genma realised that these amazing abilities would have to be hidden. He knew that the authorities would persecute him for experimenting on his own son industrial spies and jealous rivals would try to steal the fruits of his research.
Thus Genma was forced to resign from S.P.A.R. labs and ...
