There was no light, no sound, no sensations to way tell how one would relate to the rest of the physical world. It was nothing but an endless void.
And Akane was scared.
The first trial had showned her the unpleasent truth that had existed in her life. How she had failed to rise above it all.
And now as she walked? She wasn't sure if she was even moving at all? She began to search, despite the fact that she was unable to sense anything, not even the movement of her own body or the tears she knew she was releasing. She hoped she would find the way out soon. -----------------------------

Ranma: Hey I wanna know what's gonna happen to Akane?
Shadow Cat: Sorry these trials are somewhat private you know.
Ranma: *grumble, grumble*
Shadow Cat: Oh relax, you've been here two weeks almost, you know I don't do anything without a good reason.
Ranma: *Sigh* True, especially if you like torturing me.
Shadow Cat: Well not you per se, but you're right.
Ranma: Why me?
Shadow Cat: I already explained this to you. A few centuries back I was down here on Midgard and on assignment. I was in a foul mood and, I'm still not sure how it came about, I made a comment about 'wrapping trainees' in fish sausage.
Unfortuanetly the idiot I was talking to, completely missed the sarcasm and went and created the Cat-fist you're familar with. When I found out what he did I tried to fix it. And somewhere along the line I became this evil, sadistic, demonic, feline force. Sheesh can't I have an occasional bad mood with out everbody yelling DEMON!
I'm a god First Class Second Category. Not some unholy terror from the depths of Hell. So what if I'm the God of Mischief, Meddling, and Chaos. It does not mean that I'm EVIL..Those no good....Rasafrassing....
Ranma(sweating): Um, are done yet?
Shadow: Huh? Oh sorry. Listen the point is some one down there will be able to talk complete the trials, and ask Mondhound for this boon. And when he gets here tonight for I weekly poker game we'll discuss what he should ask for payment.
Ranma: What makes you think you can decide what he'll ask for payment?
Shadow Cat: Cause my dear boy. Dogboy here owes me big. Heck sending people to his temple to undo the catfist was my idea. He was in need of new followers. And the cat-fist is my aunt's jurisdiction and I'm sanctioned by her to deal with cases like this.
Ranma: Fine, fine, fine.... What are we going to do now?
