Nabiki was about to make the wish when she stopped mid sentence. Ranma looked over at Nabiki and then at Mihoshi with a puzzled look on his face. He had gone to Nabiki because she was the most logical of the sisters. Akane would have lost her temper at Ranma and blurted something out accidentally. Kasumi might have been able to help but her wish however helpful might have brought forth extra problems for him. Ranma could see the concentration upon Nabiki's face as she thought through the wish carefully. She had already been paid so no matter what she wished for she would come out ahead for the day.
"Excuse me but weren't you about to make a wish," Mihoshi questioned the economically minded Tendo.
"In a minute. In a minute. I have to think this through a bit," Nabiki replied.
The wish had to be just right. There was no way her cash cow was not going to be a part of her life. If she wished for the wrong thing it could erase Ranma from her life forever. Nabiki had to admit that while Ranma's problems were q bit of a headache for the family they did bring in a lot of spending money for the household. There was no way she was giving that up. Keeping Ranma from going on the trip in the first place while a good option was not going to keep her in the Ranma money. No he had to stay engaged to a Tendo and he had to go on that training trip. However, that did not mean a little common sense could not go along with them and make it a family training trip.
"Well, are you gonna make the wish or not Nabiki," Ranma demanded.
"Hold your horses Saotome. You paid for a wish to solve your problems and that's what you'll get but it has to be done just right," Nabiki told him.
By that time Mihoshi was becoming impatient looking over at the clock in Nabiki's room. She wanted the wish made so she could be assured she could catch her next target at home. With a sigh the absent minded genie addressed Nabiki, "I hate to be impatient but about that wish."
Nabiki had taken all the time she needed to consider the wish. She knew exactly what Ranma needed and how to word it so he would still end up a part of her life. Her wallet depended upon it. With a confident smile on her face Nabiki made the wish, "I know exactly what Ranma needs. Okay Mihoshi, I wish Ranma had never been separated from his mother and that when his father wanted to go on that crazy training trip she insisted, no demanded, for one reason or another that she went with them so she too could train Ranma without that crazy contract hanging over his head and the vow between our families still in tact."
"Wow that's a specific wish Nabiki," Ranma commented.
"Are you sure you want that," Mihoshi double checked.
"Very sure, because maybe his mother being there could stop some of the issues caused by Genma," Nabiki replied with a confident smile on her face.
With a happy smile on her face Mihoshi happily worked her magic, "Your wish has been granted. It was a pleasure doing business with you Ranma."
One poof of smoke later Mihoshi was gone and Ranma's life was about to change big time as the world changed with him.
