Asuka was right after all. Her Mommy wasn't who she had been.
Many hours later, Kyoko walked into the room Asuka was sleeping in and put her palm atop the sleeping redhead's forehead. Fingers stretched out to fully grasp the child's head.
Kyoko grinned with a smile that stretched as impossibly long as her fingers, teeth showing that were not of a human dentition. It was sloppy of her to discard so much of her human appearance, even here in a room where the security monitors had been tricked to display a pre-recorded loop. Sloppy, but necessary. She had to plant the seeds for later, so that these human-cattle would find their teeth pulled when plans came to fruition.
This girl's fire fought back, but at six years of age was hardly capable of withstanding a multi-faceted attack such as was employed.
Not that it could be too obvious. For simple cattle, these humans had some degree of cunning and cleverness within their limitations.
Asuka groaned and thrashed briefly, then lay still, a trail of drool coming from her mouth as her body sagged in defeat.
"Shinji, you will begin."
"Right," said Shinji. "PenPen. Attack the target."
"Wark!" said PenPen, throwing shards of conjured ice at the black outline.
"Rei, Force Bolt," ordered Shinji.
Rei held out a hand, and her target came apart as if a hammer had smashed through it.
"What about Asuka? Will I be working with her?" asked Shinji.
"Asuka has returned to Germany," said the test coordinator. "Continue."
Makoto chambered, then changed her attack from punching to a sweeping kick, then shifted that back to a punch though from a different angle.
Her opponent didn't change his defense at all, merely slapping wherever he thought her defenses needed to cover.
