Most of the people associated with Ranma were too caught up in their personal desires of either having him marry or be killed (surprisingly enough this group included about half of the first group too..) to ever sit back and just soak in the amusement that one could gain from the mess that was the said Saotome's life.
People such as Cologne sometimes seemed to take time from their day for a brief chuckle before re-enterring their contribution to the fracas.
Others spent more time enjoying it than actually contribuing to it, such as the eldest Tendo sister Kasumi. Behind that friendly and naive personality was a woman who had not had so much fun in years.. even that practical joke of telling that poor kendoist boy that her youngest sister had a secret crush on him never paid out so much enjoyable madness. Some may have felt that such thoughts were petty and mean considering the pain experienced by the characters involved in the shows.. but who can really blame a girl for wanting something to break the mundane tasks of cleaning house day in and day out.
Then there were those who were semi-active in contributing to the chaos yet still avoided most of the actual effects in the pursuit of livening up their days. In that category the most obvious member was yet another of the Tendo trio, the so-called 'Ice Queen' of Furinkan High, Nabiki. It always amazed that young lady how it was possible to routinely get away with egging the different fiances and rivals without ever really getting any backlask for her troubles or ever have her customers stop coming to her.
Yes, life was good for an up and coming capitalist.. especially when something new and magic related attached itself to Ranma. Today's latest insane intro to magic had already netted her some quality fun and a good deal of future cash. The photos of Ranma dealing with the genie would sell like mad with all the boys who liked something to hold over his head.. and pictures of him being made to look like a complete basket-case were sure to be platinum card winners.
But the best shots so far had to be when that gift from the gods sent herself and Ranma into the koi pond. The first photo Nabiki had snapped had gotten the two just as they were reappearing. The white flash still around them made the two look almost like divinities which was sure to be sellable to the fiances, either as something to drool over (even she might keep one.. Ranma looked so hot with that flash defining all of his muscles) or as evidence of his cheating with yet another girl.
The next photo was just after the water had done its work on Ranma and the water had plastered her clothes to her but before the after-glow had fully receded.. and she just knew she was going to be raking in the money from everyone interested in Ranma-chan.. not to mention the hentai squad would probably be interested in the new girl who was just as wet and glowy but even scantier dressed.
Yes, today was turning out to be a very good day for miss Nabiki which is why she decided to be a philanthropist for once and help poor Ranma-chan out.. (not to mention that afterward Ranma would owe her and then she could really help Ranma-chan out.. of her clothes that is.. lingerie shots would make her a killing tomorrow..)
Smiling cat-like from her thoughts, Nabiki called out, "Easy, Ranma. I'll handle this for you if you want.. for a nominal fee, of course."
Pushing the red-head out of the way, and incidentally pushing her shirt off of one shoulder and revealing some of that great bust (naturally taking one last photo while at it..), Nabiki stepped over to the floating genie and settled into negotiations. She was going to make sure Ranma was cured of one of her curses.. just not any of the real moneymakers like that Jusenkyo jewel.
"So, Mihoshi was it..?" She enquired of the genie, "what Ranma-chan is trying to understand is how exactly does her turning into a buxom flirt count as a blessing?"
"Well I only really saw her life history for a moment while the wish was being processed.. but from what I can remember Ranma's life has always been about fighting and the goddess decided to give him a body that would let him focus on something other than just the fight and it worked too from what I remember seeing with her learning how to do other stuff like that cute fiance of hers." Mihoshi said with her eyes all a-glow.
"Hey!" shouted out the only Tendo female yet to be mentioned, said girl also backed away from the blond in case she was one of 'those' types. Simultaneously, Ranma-chan shouted out in protest, "I ain't never done nothing with that tomboy!" while pointing at Akane.
Before the shadow could continue its course toward a certain cranium, Mihoshi said, "Huh? No, I was talking about that cute fanged boy with those kawaii bandannas.."
Ranma let out a noise that sounded like she was strangling on her own tongue. Naturally Akane set into 'the pervert' for doing something like 'that' with *shudder* 'a boy'. Many of those listening to the accusations of the girl as she 'pounded some sense into the pervert' were left wonderring whether she meant 'with a boy' because Ranma really was one or rather that Akane one of 'those' types as well.
Amid the crying (Soun), shouting (Genma), and pounding (Uber-uncute-tomboy-of-doom), Nabiki calmly regarded the genie and wonderred whether she was more cunning than she had previously thought. Anyone with any brains would know that Ranma wouldn't do something perverted, hell Nabiki doubted if Ranma even knew how to do something like that. Although sometimes she did wonder exactly how straight Ranma was.. but all of that was beside the point. Nabiki had accepted delegations on Ranma's behalf and she was not going to let this blond exception-to-all-of-the-laws-of-physics make her fail at something for the first time in her career.
"Ok if that is true then what about all of the other victims of Jusenkyo we've gathered here in Nerima?" she asked semi-sarcastically.
"From Ranma's history report the rest are all the same. Genma gets out of being pounded on due to his panda trick, Shampoo would have been killed in punishment for her failure to kill Ranma-chan if the Jusenkyo springs hadn't been available as punishment, Mousse can turn into a duck and stop having to pretend he loves someone in order to spy on her and her relative due to his relative, in order to avoid being hunted by angry mobs that monster-bull-yeti guy has to hide away sometimes instead of constantly picking fights every waking minute of his days, Rouge learned how bad the path of anger and fighting can be by how out of control her other form is so has settled peacefully into her life, Kiima learned that humanity isn't evil devils that want to roast her people alive so has lost her drive to kill every human, Herb learned that women aren't inferior and that there is always someone out there stronger than him, and that Ryouga guy is able to leave his path of depression and anger to curl up in someone's arms as their pet pig and be pampered."
Nabiki was blinking at both the absurd logic that somehow still was true and at the way the woman managed to say everything without even once stopping for breath.
"Umm.. excuse me? What was that about Ryouga and a pet pig..?" Akane asked the genie girl in confusion while mid-strike in her game of show-Ranma-my-loving-massage-of-wooden-instruments.
"Huh? Oh he turns into a pig with cold water and fools some girl of Ranma's into taking him to bed with her." Mihoshi said without a clue that she was talking to said girl.
