Naruto looked over his room. Everything was neatly packed away, or rolled up. He doubted he'd be back for a few years.
He'd failed the test, had not been able to get a the simple clone technique done, and was now a civilian.
It hadn't taken long before he'd decided that if he couldn't become a Hokage through NORMAL means, then he had other possibilities before him. He was a sorcerer now. When he returned, he would have mastered his spells and the magical crafting he'd decided to do - and would return not as a simple ninja but as a much more accomplished individual.
Naruto checked the note he was leaving behind, then grabbed the simple pack he had and slung it over one shoulder.
"Raywing!"
Naruto headed up into the air, clearing the nearby rooftops, as he decided where to go first. He had several possibilities in mind, but hadn't been able to decide where to go first.
Finally he chose, oriented himself and sped up. He'd just renew Raywing every so often and fly there at high speed and relative comfort.
Naruto spotted Hinata, waved to her, and continued on. Yes, he knew she'd watched him fill out the goodbye note. It was odd how much clearer his head felt now that he'd made that decision to leave. Now she would go on and become a ninja, after all - SHE had passed. As a ninja she would learn jutsu and progress on that path. As a civilian, he would go on a different path and see what path he could make for himself.
There was so much world out there. So much more than one little village. So much to learn beyond just what the Ninja Academy taught.
Naruto angled up and increased his speed again as he left the walls of Konohagakure behind.
