Oh yeah, he'd been shot. By Barnette. And it was an accident. In fact, she was being kept locked up to keep her from shooting any more of the crew. (And to keep her safe from her unintended 'victims', none of whom had been too happy to be either malleted or shot.) But he might have gotten away totally if he hadn't noticed the bridge operator in her stupid bear costume. Unable to move quickly enough, Hibiki had seen once course of action.
He'd leapt to knock her out of the way. And gotten shot in the process. Being one of many had meant that Duero was a bit... overworked. Although why he'd insisted Parfet stay under his care, the Van pilot didn't know. What he did was that the sickbay was now hard-pressed to house the wounded. That meant that the better off of the injured were put in other rooms, especially if it allowed them to help their roommate's recovery.
He just hoped that Bart would not be as bad a patient as he would a roommate. All that making noise did not bode well for a time stuck in close quarters. Looking over to the other patient, he prepare to tell the blond man not to talk his ear off, only Bart was never that well curved.
Meia looked back at him with a bit of her discomforture obvious. Even to Hibiki. "It seems that we have to share the room for the time being."
"Why?"
"Do you have a problem?"
"No, not with you. but I thought that Bart would be hear with me."
"I believe that the doctor has placed him under Paiway's care."
Hibiki tried to imagine the navigator being watched over by the young nurse and tried to stifle a chuckle. "I don't think that I would want to be him right now."
"Neither would I," Meia said with a slight smile.
"You smiled..."
The smile was replaced with a frown. "Is that a problem?"
"What? Nah. It's just that you should smile more. You look pretty when you do."
"I...I... do?"
The Van pilot reddened. "Yeah. You do. Not like it matters much."
Both blushed and looked away from each other as:
