Ranma awoke, eyes blinded from the sunlight. He remembered things . . . the Neko Ken training . . . traveling Japan with his father . . . Ukyo . . . the Tendos . . . Jusenkyo . . . Nerima
But while he was remembering these things, he also remembered Ami and their mother . . . playing in the park with them . . . protecting his baby sister from bullies . . . finding out that his sister was a senshi . . . Juuban . . . Ami . . .
Finally he snapped to attention, only to find the strange, black haired boy staring at him with his green eyes . . . and he remembered . . .
"Still stuck traveling the dimensions, eh Harry?
Harry Potter, or at least one version of the Boy Who Lived, grinned, "Beats getting fed general bullshit from Dumbledore, though I do wish I could start porting into versions of my own world sometime soon."
"Good luck with that . . . and thanks . . . " Ranma muttered, holding his head."
Harry stared at the boy for a time, and then asked, "So, who are you now?"
Ranma stared at him for a moment, and then he finally smirked, "I'm Mizuno Ranma, brother to Mizuno Ami, senshi of Mercury. Nothing's going to change that!" He then shuddered, "I've seen what happens to Saotome Ranma; I'd rather stay a Mizuno, thank you very much."
Harry laughed, "True enough, though there might be some issues that you'll need to deal with." At Ranma's look, he replied, "Cat."
Ranma jumped at that, and then stopped himself, "You're kidding me . . . "
"In giving you all the memories and skills of your other self, the one you could have been had this Genma not summoned a dreaded Grue, I had to give you the same . . . weaknesses . . . "
At Ranma's paling features, he continued, "Though your IQ and social skills will not change, you will have to watch out for cats, or else the dreaded Neko Ken will take over. You have the Dragon Hair Curse, which means you need to keep your hair tied with that Whisker I gave you." Ranma's hair reached back to touch the magical object. "Finally, who need to watch out for cold water."
"Jusenkyo?"
"Jusenkyo."
"Damn."
Harry nodded, "Indeed. Want some free advice?"
Ranma blinked, "What?"
"I hear Mau, like Luna, have an ability called the Lunar Mind Meld. It can impart information and deal with mental instabilities. You may want to look into that . . . "
Saotome Ranma would not have gotten the hint, but Mizuno Ranma was faster than that, "Right, anything else?"
"They say that the Moon Princess may have access to an object that can remove curses. It may take years, maybe even decades for her to learn how to negate Jusenkyo, but your hair problems, on the other hand . . . "
"Thanks."
"Don't mention it. Just take a week or so to meditate and train. The skills are yours, but you need to make sure that your body can handle them. It may help that, as you use them, your body will adopt itself at an accelerated pace, but that's still up to you."
"And now, I must go," Harry held out his hand for Ranma to shake.
"Thanks again, man. Is there anything else to add? No offense, but you have a habit of leaving the theoretical issues out."
"True . . . you may want to check on Saotome Nodoka, or whatever she calls herself now. Grues usually wipe out everything their victims do, but you still exist, so . . . "
Ranma frowned, "Got it."
Finally, with a nod, Harry Potter, Grey Mage of Neutrality, opened another portal, and stepped through, disappearing from this dimension.
