Much better.
Then, just to make things amusing, reverted everything in the timeline to Original Flavor before arranging Naruto to find the bottles. An appropriate point was THEN.
Age eleven:
Naruto slowly got his breathing under control as the crowd of chunin passed his hiding place.
Why they were after him was uncertain. It could have been switching the 'Shinobi' and 'Kunoichi' signs on the bathrooms in the Hokage Tower. It could have been the stinkbomb in the playground, but that had been an accident. It could have been while he was going over herbs and he pulled a plant that turned out to be the wrong kind, and his book had revealed it was a natural laxative, and that he'd then grabbed more of the plant and snuck them into...
Honestly, who would reasonably expect it to be THAT effective? Or that all the trained ninja would have failed to detect the bitter taste in the lunchroom's House Special?
Okay, maybe lying low for awhile would be a good idea.
Letting out a little sigh, and briefly wondering if maybe he ought to pack his bags and plan a little trip outside the village until outrage cooled a bit, Naruto checked out his hiding place a little more carefully.
The crack he'd chosen to hide in was barely large enough for him to squeeze through. Scorch marks indicated that this was where that fight with the rogue nin had occurred yesterday, said rogue had blown himself up with a stack of explosive tags. Everyone at school had been talking about it, which was a glad change of pace from people talking about how awesome Sasuke was.
Naruto heard a noise from the alley and decided to scrape his way further into the building when he found it opened up into a room. There were no windows or doors, just the large crack he'd entered from, and smaller ones up near the roof.
It was filthy in there, with thick dust and a few scattered about items.
Naruto rubbed the dust off a bottle the size of his head and was amazed to find there was a scene within it. A beach with lots of houses on stilts, an ocean, a thickly forested island with a single mountain jutting out of it.
Then he touched the bottle's plug and vanished.
Minutes past, then a small figure squeezed through the crack/tunnel to stand in the same room that Naruto had vacated.
She'd been using her Byakugan and worrying about Naruto when he'd abruptly vanished.
