Mischief Fragment: Naruma - Day One [Episode 235014]

"Oh heck," said Naruto as he looked over the large circular platform and in particular - the large plaque on the arch that joined the platform to some stairs that led down to the beach.

"A week?!" complained Naruto. "Oh crap! What about food?"

Nothing answered him.

Naruto scratched his head, looking around. Then he just shrugged. It wasn't likely that anyone would find him here.

Maybe one of those houses sitting out in the lagoon, standing on STILTS, would have some food or something.

Naruto had dangled a fishing pole in the water for about an hour when he saw the pillar of light form.

Naturally he dropped the fishing pole.

Naturally he dropped it in the water.

Naturally he said a few expletives.

After that though, he hurried to the platform.

"Is that you, Hinata?" asked Naruto when he saw the panicked girl on the platform.

"Where? Naruto?! What?"

Naruto took the dark-haired girl's hand, not noticing how red she turned, and led her to the plaque.

After reading the plaque she blinked a couple of times. "We're in the bottle?"

"I guess," said Naruto.

"Oh," said Hinata, re-reading the sign. So we're here for a week? Wait one minute. A week alone with Naruto-kun?!

"I'm trying to catch some fish," began Naruto, "except that I... Hinata?!"

He managed to catch her in mid-faint. Well, at least there was a place he could set her down in that one house.

She wasn't that heavy, and he could take her into the large house easily enough.

Once there, he had to consider what he'd found.

Two rooms. One large communal area, the second room turning out to be a toilet area. Inside the communal area there was a small kitchen, including a refrigerator (currently not stocked), a large bed, and an elaborate gadget that looked kind of like an opaque tube connected to a large machine that had [Mk IV Acme Auto-Closet] on it. There was a dial next to the sign.

He simply set her down on the bed, went to the Auto-Closet and looked it over in better detail now.

Playing with the knob, he found a selection that read [Swimwear], saw that the button marked [AutoDetect] was pushed in on the next section, and then clicked the friendly green [Start] button.

He'd expected a panel to open up with the clothing. Instead the tube cycled open and the floor blinked with light. Fully curious now, Naruto stepped inside.

The tube whooshed closed, there were some ratcheting and clanking noises, followed by the tube whooshing open again.

"Whoa," said Naruto, as he examined himself. Now he was wearing a pair of floppy sandals, Hawaiian-print swimtrunks, tank top of some ribbed material, and had a pair of goggles atop his head. "This is freaking neat!"

With a grin, Naruto went back to trying to catch fish. Now all this place needed was a Ramen-O-Matic machine that produced rameny goodness on demand and he was set.

Hinata sniffed a couple of times as she slowly woke up, with the smell of frying fish filling the air.

Rubbing sleep from her eyes, she tried to figure out where she was at first. Then she saw Naruto in the kitchenette and it all came back to her.

She was here in a tropical resort setting, alone with Naruto.

"Eeep," managed Hinata.

"Oh, you're awake, Hinata?" asked Naruto, fox-grinning over one shoulder at the girl. "Good, I can use some help exploring this place. Well, when morning comes around. It's already getting kinda dark."

"S-s-sure," stuttered Hinata as she got out of bed. Her stomach growled to her embarrassment and Naruto's amusement.

"Fish'll be done in a couple," said Naruto.
