Mischief Fragment: Wishcraft and the eleven year old Superninja [Episode 236279]

by Kestral

Toltiir decided.

Naruto had grown up normally, with only a few hints as to what had been shifted in his past.

Here, when it was a few scant days before he'd join the Ninja Academy - Hinata was being bullied by three older kids. Naruto intervened, because have three boys bullying a smaller girl just struck a chord within him. The same, yet different, in that he didn't try to use a bunshin but instead just punched his way through the obstacles.

Hinata, on the other hand, saw the boy who was scorned and called 'demon' and 'kyubi' come to her rescue and strike with the force of thunderbolts. From that moment on, he was her shining knight and hero.

Here, on another occasion, things had shifted a bit further. Same three boys bullying someone else. Again Naruto came to the rescue. This time one of the boys was armed and Naruto's durability against a length of steel pipe was tested. Naruto went down, and the arriving adults immediately placed blame with the demon-brat. Until the little girls recounted their difficulty, and the three boys were at last punished by the adults. By that time, the 'demon' had slunk off to stick his head under a faucet and relieve his headache some.

Ino Yamanaka, Sakura Haruno, and Midori Uchiha all remembered their benefactor. If they made a little less fun of the sometimes clownish boy after that, well, it wasn't that noticeable for quite some time. The adults still told them to stay away from him, so they did - but they couldn't help but wonder why.

Then Midori was gone - part of the Uchiha Massacre despite being of a branch family without the Sharingan.

Which brought things to the Now.

Toltiir nodded. Flashy was something he could do.

The entire village felt the supernatural cold as a huge gate formed outside the city. Large doors of black iron swung open, and the day seemed to darken as if the darkness beyond sucked the light and life out of their surroundings.

Figures came forward out of that darkness, being led by a little boy of eleven years.

After the last of the figures stumbled out of the darkness into the light, the gates swung shut with a clang that seemed to echo in the bones of those watching. The gates faded away, leaving only those who'd come out as evidence they'd ever been there.

The only stumbling block to the triumphal return was that the chunin at the gate refused the entire group entry. Minato Namikaze demonstrated that he wasn't called the Yellow Flash for being weak or slow.

The crowd of formerly-dead individuals and one young boy met the Third Hokage outside the Hokage Tower.
