"It is good to see you after all these years Kyle," Superman said. "I need to talk to you about you battery."
Holding up the Power Battery that Solaris was tricked into firing into the Superman's Solar Fortress, Superman used a tiny fraction of his heat vision to carve a chunk from it.
Kyle look bewildered, while Superman explained, "Your battery can be carved into many pieces and each piece can become a new battery."
Kyle asked, "How-how did you find that out?"
Handing Kyle the small chunk, Superman replied, "You told me, after you returned. Hourman will see you back to your proper time after the festivities begin."
Kyle nodded and waited for Hourman, recharging his ring while doing so. Sighing, he pulled another Green Lantern ring from his pocket looked at it. Shaking his head, he put the ring he received from Hal Jordan, before Hal was sent back to his time, back in his pocket. Kyle did not have long to wait for Hourman, and was taken back into time.
However due to the Limbo Cell in an alternate timeline playing havoc, Kyle was dropped into another world altogether, while Hourman collapsed onto the floor of the Watchtower in the early 21st Century rattled at what had happened.
_______________________________________________________________________
Running through the forest, Lina was leading Zelgadis on a merry chase. Due to her condition, she was unable to use any of her big spells and was soon cornered at riverbank.
Zelgadis stepped out of the forest and tossed a dagger at Lina's shadow.
"Shadow Snap!"
Frozen to the spot, Lina was about to cast Lighting to dispel her shadow, when a bright green light appeared in the air and did it for her. Both Lina and Zelgadis looked up to see a green comet heading towards them. The two of them ducked, as the comet crashed into the ground between them. A massive explosion of dust and green light went everywhere. They were startled when a human figure stood up from the settling dust.
Kyle Rayner looked around and grimaced. "What a way to travel. Where am I? He must have slipped up transporting me."
Zelgadis pointed his sword at Kyle and said, "I don't know who you are, but I have no quarrel with you."
Kyle turned and saw Lina. After seeing her, he frowned and looked back at Zelgadis.
"Why are you attacking her?"
"That is none of you business," Zelgadis snapped. "Stand aside or you will get hurt."
Kyle stepped towards Zelgadis. "I've had a very bad week. My teammates chewed me out, since they wouldn't believe that a person they brought into the team was nuts. I just had a test of willpower that almost caused my brain to explode. I've been dropped who knows where in the universe and now I'm being threatened by a guy with an over-sized pig-sticker."
A giant, glowing, green wind-up monkey appeared behind Zelgadis. Zelgadis turned as he heard the monkey make its cheeping sound. Lina watched astounded as the monkey clashing its cymbals together battered Zelgadis. Kyle shook his head and walked over to Lina.
"Are you all right?"
Lina nodded and looked back at Zelgadis.
"Don't worry. He'll be all right. Humiliated, but okay. Do you need to be somewhere safer?"
Lina, quickly putting her astonishment aside, said, "I was separated from Gourry when Zelgadis attacked us."
Kyle said, "Boyfriend? At any rate, I'll help you find him."
Kyle flew into the air, while a green platform with guardrails formed underneath Lina.
Lina thought, "No comments about my chest size. No little girl comment. Although, I could have lived without him making the assumption that Gourry is my boyfriend. I wonder how he's doing all this?"
Kyle, for his part, thought, "Hourman really screwed up. I can already tell that I'm not on Earth. I wonder if I'm back in the 30th century. This girl looks like she might be part of the Legion of Super-Heroes."
