"You made a big mistake, whoever you are."
Zelgadis shook his sword and sighed. "I'll have to tell Rezo that Lina had some help in getting away."
Calming down, Zelgadis went back over the fight.
"That person seemed confused at where he was. Universe? Hmm, a fouled up transportation spell seems most likely. He's powerful, I'll say that much for him. He might be from outside the barrier"
Zelgadis, sheathing his sword, began the trek back to where Rezo had some of his minions staying. It was an abandoned church in the middle of the forest. Taking a deep breath, Zelgadis entered the church and waited for the others to return.
The half-wolf/half-troll Dilgear was the first to return. "So a little girl was able to evade you?"
Zelgadis cross his arms across his chest and glared at Dilgear. "Lina Inverse wasn't the problem. There was a powerful interloper that stopped me as easily as I could stop an Orc."
While Zelgadis told Dilgear that, the others from the 'hunting' expedition had returned.
Zolf Longbottom, stunned, said, "You must be joking, Master Zelgadis."
Rodimus nodded. " I agree. You are one of the strongest fighters I know."
"Thanks for your belief in me," Zelgaids replied. "But, it is the truth. This guy is just powerful. He is able to cast a flight spell on himself and cast a hovering disc sort of spell for another person at the same time without saying any Chaos Words. This was after he had summoned...well something to waylay me. Three spells being maintained at the same time with no Chaos Words being said."
Zolf put a hand to his head. "That's impossible! The most any sorcerer can have up is two spells at the same time, and they can't be complicated spells."
Zelgadis's shoulders slumped. "I was there, Zolf. He did all that."
A thump followed by a clanging sound was heard. The thumping and clanging continued, until Rezo the Red Priest walked into the church.
"Then perhaps we should find out why this person is so powerful. Gaining that kind of power you described might allow me to open my eyes."
Zelgadis suppressed a frustrated growl and asked, "What of the Philosopher's Stone?"
Rezo said, "Either one will do. The stone or why that person is so powerful."

Unaware of the plans being made for him, Kyle Rayner looked back at the girl he was carrying along.
"By the way, I forgot to get your name."
"Lina. Lina Inverse."
"Kyle Rayner," Kyle replied. "So, what does this Gourry guy look like?"
Lina gave a physical description of Gourry and sat down in the construct. Her thoughts turned to the new person who had entered her life.
"Okay," Lina thought. "This Kyle person seems like one of those storybook heroes. A person always helping those in need. But what is with that crab-faced mask of his?"
Kyle using ring-construct binoculars to scout the area found a person fitting Lina's description. Kyle landed in front of the guy and dissolved the ring construct that was carrying Lina when it touched ground. Gourry looked at Kyle with a suspicious look on his face.
Kyle looked at Lina and asked, "Is this your boyfriend?"
Gourry's face cleared and he went back to smiling.
Lina gritted her teeth and hissed, "This is Gourry. No, he's not my boyfriend. But, he is the person we were hunting for."
Kyle shrugged and held out his hand. "Kyle Rayner."
Gourry took the proffered hand. "Gourry Gabriev. I hope Lina wasn't too much trouble for you."
Kyle shook his head. "No, she wasn't."
Feeling a bit amused at the situation, Kyle thought, "Gourry does want to be Lina's boyfriend though, I caught that much. As to my secret identity, it won't be much use here. I really should find out where I am and what this world is like."
Lina asked, "So Kyle, would you mind travelling with us?"
"Until I figure a way back home, I have nothing better to do," Kyle replied, and thought, "I'll have to talk to Gourry and set his mind at ease. I'm not ready for any sort of relationship right now after that break-up with Donna."
Kyle used his ring to change his clothes back into his ordinary street wear.
Gourry said, "Neat trick."
