Ranma was considering what Ron was lining out in front of her when her danger senses starting going off, coding for Jealous Fiance.
Before she could question that sense, a shadow fell over her and Ron. Looking up, they found a redheaded girl in a cheerleading outfit standing over them, arms crossed.
“Ron, who is this?” she asked in English.
Ron winced, “Heh, KP, this is a-uh, a new client of mine.”
Noticing the paperwork, Kim narrowed her eyes, “Ron, I thought you only dealt with my paperwork?”
“Yeah, let’s just say someone high up on a particular totem pole asked for a favor and leave it to that, ‘K KP?”
The way Ron said it put her even more at ease. Kim was always the physical part of Team Possible, and Wade covered the technological side, but, while neither would ever admit it, even to themselves, there was a supernatural part of things that only Ron understood.
Give her an evil villain using some new form of technology to take over the world, and she could handle it, but add something supernatural, and it was always in Ron’s pocket . . . and he always seemed to have more luck in those situations than was normal.
Some things were better off left unsaid.
Still, there had to be some clarification.
“Just to be sure, this isn’t another one of those ‘seduction for the sake of some mad paperwork skills, is it?”
The redhead paled and started to sputter furiously at that remark, but Ron waved it off, “To be clear, that was one time, it was Shego, and I only did what she asked so she would STOP with the seduction thing . . . it was seriously starting to creep me out . . . “
“Ah . . . “ At this remark, Kim moved to sit next to her boyfriend, and then bowed her head towards Ranma in apology, “Sorry, but when I heard that Ron was eating with some strange Japanese girl that wasn’t Yori, I kind of got paranoid . . . the name’s Kim Possible. You are . . .?”
Ranma, having recovered from the odd accusation, replied, in rough English, “I am Ranma Saotome, and I’m sorry about this . . . “
Kim could only blink at the odd introduction, but Ron just coughed slightly and said, “Look, if you want specifics about this, I’ll tell you later, but Ranma and I were trying to straighten out a family matter between her and her mother.”
“And this has to do with the Guild,” Kim stressed the last word out as if it was something disgusting, “how?
Ron squirmed for a moment, and then asked, “Did you ever read that report I gave you about the Demon hunting families of Japan?”
Kim furrowed her brow at this, “Yeah . . . the one you gave me after we got that message about those Youma terrorizing the Juban area . . . “ She then frowned, “One of the missions you insisted was not our place to get involved in?”
Ron winced again; Kim hated those kinds of missions, because she couldn’t put her full faith in his explanations of those cases. However, it was never a good idea to NOT listen to him in those occasions . . .
To be honest, how can you completely doubt a man who knows about the Supernatural when he has mystic monkey powers?
However, before the blonde boy could continue, Ranma broke in for him, “My mother and I are descending from a long line of demon hunters. However, in order to . . . make sure . . . our line has continued, my mother has done . . . some dishonorable deeds. While I am willing to continue our line’s duty . . . I’d rather not have to deal with the Guild . . . I just want a peaceful life . . . “
Kim nodded, her curiosity both sated and peaked. Ron, however, had a question. “Who taught you how to speak English?”
Ranma blinked, “Why, is something wrong?”
“No . . . though you might need a bit more practice . . . it’s just . . . what’s with the accent?
“I was taught by an old British General my father met. He was supposed to teach me about Battle Tactics, but he insisted that I learn some ‘Queen’s English’ as he called it.”
“Ah . . .”
