Divine Call - Lathander: Healing Hands [Episode 241119]

by A Wandering Soul

As Orcus, Demon Lord of Necromancy, was vaporized, a huge wave of energy was released. Akane, who had most of the foul demon’s attention before Ranma stepped in, was knocked unconscious by the foul aura. Kasumi barely managed to stay conscious, and Nabiki... was still in a large amount of pain.

Ranma was forced back a bit because of it, making her stagger a bit as she tried to stay upright. The hordes of the undead, however, were greatly affected. Most of them began to turn into vapor, and then were blown away like so much dust in the wind. Only a few corpses, mostly the bloodiest ones, fell to the floor in a heap.

“Wh... what just happened?” Sailor Venus gasped, staring at the scene.

She was surprised by Pluto appearing next to her, “Most of the dead in Tokyo are actually cremated, which meant that Orcus had to magically reconstitute them from what remained.”

“And the other bodies?” Sailor Moon asked.

The redheaded cleric answered this one, as she stood next to a half naked corpse of a teenage girl, “Not everyone can hide a body by burning it... “

As Ranma moved towards the Tendos, Sailor Uranus leapt down a few yards from her, “Who are you exactly? And what was that thing talking about?”

Ranma hesitated, having noticed that some of the civilians who had started trickling back had cameras and recorders with them, and said, “I am Dawnbringer, Servant of the Morning Lord. Now if you’ll excuse me, I still have some work to do.”

She was surprised to find Sailor Saturn already kneeling by Nabiki, “I can’t do anything here. My powers aren’t good with broken bones!” the girl nearly wailed.

“What’s that got to do with it?” Venus asked.

It was Mercury who replied to her, “Bones have to be reset for them to heal correctly. If Saturn heals a break without resetting it, there is a possibility of it healing incorrectly. It happened once or twice before... Saturn was quite distressed when I had to tell her... “

Ranma ignored the idle chit-chat and gave the small, violet eyed girl a smile. “Then I guess we better reset them.” Then without even waiting for a reply, Ranma bent over placed her hands on Nabiki’s face, and then pulled her nose back into place.

The senshi and Kasumi could only wince at the half scream, half whimper that arose from the battered girl’s mouth, but marveled at the moan that followed, along with the slight glow from Ranma’s hands that accompanied it. When the redhead removed her hands and used the corner of her cloak to wipe some of the blood off Nabiki’s face, not even Mercury could tell that it had ever been broken before.

Ranma then moved down to Nabiki’s legs, examining the break, and then scowling to herself. She moved one hand up to the middle of Nabiki’s thigh and then dug her fingers into certain pressure points. The glow from her hands were more noticeable, though this time it was more ki than holy energy. She looked up to find Saturn marveling at the sight. “I can reset and brace the legs, but I’ll need you to fix them for me, ‘K? I saw you heal some of the bruises and cuts, so once I have this ready for you, this shouldn’t be too much different, right?”

She then looked over to Kasumi, who was still standing, stunned, next to them. “Kasumi, I need you to hold Nabiki down for me. Once I start moving the bones into place, she’s going to be hurting like never before! You need to keep her from moving, got it?”

Kasumi nodded faintly, and then knelt down to grip Nabiki’s torso. She was joined by Mercury, who was hoping for a better look.

Ranma focused her ki into Nabiki, and then started moving her broken leg around. This time, there was no whimper coming from the mercenary girl’s mouth, just pure screams of pain. She unconsciously struggled, but both girls kept her down.

Once her leg was in place, Ranma nodded to Saturn, who began to focus her own healing nature into area. Ranma marveled at the similarity between Saturn’s healing energy and some of the energy that Lathander-sama had blessed her with.

After what seemed like hours, Saturn took her hands from Nabiki’s leg. Ranma continued to focus her ki into Nabiki’s thigh for a minute, and then did the same, “There we go. She’ll need to eat a lot of dairy stuff to regain the amount of Calcium we used up, but she’s as good as new!”

Ranma stood up and nearly collapsed again, only staying up due to the timely save from Pluto, “Thanks, Miss... “

“Just Pluto, will be fine. It’s been a while since I’ve seen an emissary of the Forgotten Realms in this land.”

“Wha... ?”

The God you serve is from a nearby dimension. It is rare that they ordain clerics from our realm, though not unheard of... you wouldn’t happen to know if a servant of Ilmater, the Crying God, is among us, would you?”

Ranma blinked. The woman’s tone did not change during this explanation, but her eyes seemed to plead with him for a moment, as if there was something more to the question. As she was about to answer, she felt a warmth come upon her, as if guiding her to an answer, “Not as of yet, though the will of the Gods is ever changing.”

The emotion in her eyes glinted of disappointment, though the woman hid it well, “Ah, nevermind then. I assume this won’t be the last time we see you, Cleric Dawnbringer?”

Ranma smiled as she felt steady enough to leap up onto a roof. “Maybe, maybe not. All depends on where evil appears next. Until next time, though.”

She then leapt away.
