The three Tendo girls slowly walked into the house.
After Nabiki woke up to find her nose fixed and her leg healed, she had elected to go back to the Tendo compound. Kasumi couldn’t blame her; the shaken look that had appeared on the girl who had once thought herself as untouchable was rather obvious.
Akane, however, was pale and altering between shaking in half-remembered terror and frothing in a rabid rage that seemed to eclipse her earlier fit. The oldest Tendo was really starting to become concerned about the girl.
As Kasumi quickly walked to her Kitchen of Solitude, the one place where she felt at peace in a crazy, violent world, Nabiki hurriedly walked upstairs and Akane stomped out to the dojo. As she began to sedately pick out pans and cooking utensils, she sighed, and then gasped as she heard a yell from out back!
She rushed outside to find Ranma, male and dressed in a Red Chinese Shirt, was dodging Akane. Normally, this could be thought as one of their usual sparring matches. However, the red aura of anger around Akane and the way Ranma kept trying to rationalize with her definitely wasn’t normal.
“Damn you, Ranma! Fight me seriously, you bastard!”
“You’re not ready for that! Calm down, Akane! You’re going to hurt someone like this!”
The youngest Tendo girl shrieked in rage and took another swing, forming an iridescent ki mallet as she did so. Ranma dodged this, and then leapt over the wall of the compound, escaping. Akane hurried around to the gate to go after him, but stomped back into the compound a minute later.
As she turned to enter the dojo, Kasumi let out a sigh. Maybe it wasn’t the best idea to stick Ranma-kun with Akane...
Kasumi had always had something of a torch for older men, or a certain Doctor, to be specific. From the moment the choice came up when Ranma entered their lives, Kasumi felt at least somewhat justified for pushing the two together. For some reason, it just seemed right to her.
However, she could now admit to herself that she might have been looking at the situation with rose tinted glasses. At first, Akane had an excuse for hitting Ranma-the boy just couldn’t keep his mouth shut without insulting her. Sure, the fiancés weren’t really his fault, and he WAS raised by Saotome Genma, but still, it was an excuse.
Now, Ranma was getting to be nicer, more mature, yet Akane was getting even angrier at him. It made absolutely no sense to the oldest Tendo...
Plus, the way Ranma was turning out, he was becoming quite the hunky gentleman...
Feeling frustrated, Kasumi turned to her one solace: her mother’s cookbooks. Not even Akane knew about them, for fear of her accidentally destroying one. As Kasumi opened the cupboard door and reached for them, she couldn’t help but notice that there was an extra book there... one that did not belong...
