"Yeah. She beat Sasuke up!"
"Uhm, did you notice?"
"Notice what, Midori?"
"Sasuke-kun is paying more attention to Naruko since she beat him up."
"That's cra... she's right. Once she demonstrated she was strong enough to be able to fight him, they started getting along... THAT SNEAK!"
"So - the way to Sasuke's heart is to defeat him in battle?" asked some girl wearing a cat-ear headband as she paused nearby then continued walking.
The various girls considered that briefly. Sasuke ignored them. Naruko beat on Sasuke, then Sasuke was nicer to her and actually paid attention to the blonde outsider tramp?
"Ah HAH!" said several young girls.
Sasuke twitched. "That's odd."
"What's odd?" asked Naruko, tossing another kunai into the target.
"I just got this chill as if something horribly wrong and stupid was about to occur," said Sasuke.
"Oh?" asked Naruko. "I'll have to check around. Anyway, if we're going to be on the same team, we ought to TRY and get along. So tell you what. You help me work on shuriken and kunai, and I'll get you a couple of fire techniques I've got scrolls for. Last I heard the Uchiha were really good at fire techniques."
"Oh?" asked Sasuke.
"Yeah, you watch my back - I'll watch yours," said Naruko. "We may never like each other, but I can put that aside to work together and get stronger. Deal?"
"Hnn," acknowledged Sasuke.
Naruko twitched, as that sound irritated the heck out of her. But she was going to TRY to do this, damnit!
