Great Will: Alone no longer. [Episode 241346]

"Yes," said Sailor Mercury an hour later. "August 27th, 2041 is the date on the paper. However the paper itself is yellowed and disintegrating. It was printed over twenty five years ago."

"Oh," said Ranma. "So it's..."

"2066 at the very least," said Sailor Mercury.

"I'm just grateful it worked, and I was able to get you," said Ranma after awhile.

"I'll continue to scan, you just keep summoning the rest of my team please," said Sailor Mercury, turning to the task at hand so she wouldn't have to answer any questions.

After all, Ranma didn't have to know that they were actually a form of permanent magical clones made by an elder god who had noted the disturbance of the timestream and had shifted things a bit so that Ranma's experiment in summoning would work. In fact, there were aspects of the situation that she herself wished she didn't know.

VWAUM! went the blue sparklies as another form faded in - and then collapsed onto the table.

"Huh, this isn't one of you either," said Ranma, scratching his head.

"Keep trying please," said Sailor Mercury.

"I think I know this one," mused Ranma as he picked the gal up and moved her to a bed that shimmered into existence just before he got there. Then teleported the bed to a room elsewhere in the hospital. "Wasn't she in some ninja series?"

"Most likely," said Sailor Mercury. VWAUM!

"All right, I got Sailor Jupiter," said Ranma, enthused over his apparent success.

"Gotta catch 'em all," muttered Sailor Mercury.

"Wha?" asked Ranma.

"Never mind," said Sailor Mercury.

"Why do I keep getting others though?" asked Ranma.

Sailor Mercury considered all the possible answers and decided on one that was most likely only partially correct. "It's probably the 'white rhinoceros effect' - you think on several levels at the same time, and some of those other levels are thinking of other things. You can't think of anything BUT a white rhinoceros when you're told not to think of one. That sort of thing."

"Oh," said Ranma. "So that's why I've got..." Ranma's gesture adequately indicated the large female population occupying the beds of the hospital.

VWAUM!

"Go figure. I just got a white rhino."

"Don't think about my poor mother," muttered Sailor Mercury, thinking it was just loud enough.

VWAUM!

"Huh, who's this? She looks kind of like you, but older..."

Allowing herself a brief smile, and a muttered thank-you to elder gods of mischief who honored deals made with somewhat slightly klutzy superhero magical princesses, Mercury replied to the question with - "Hopefully a doctor. We're going to need someone."

VWAUM!
