For several years that had been the only way they could get messages across.
Their animal natures kept taking over as well. Sometimes, when eating or doing typical animal work, it was easier just to let it do so. Otherwise Rei wouldn't have been able to eat worms or Setsuna would have been rather unhappy with eating live mice.
They'd found that constant association with Ranma had brought them into a sort of cozy pack mentality. Ami and Setsuna might have recognized that they were all being domesticated, but it was better than going completely wild and letting the animal nature take over - which was no doubt what that sorcerer had intended.
Even Michiru and Haruka, who normally wouldn't have been that concerned about a boy, found themselves gravitating towards Ranma as their "alpha male".
Ranma, however, regarded them all as his friends. Though occasionally he would get some weird idea like asking a bemused Ami for his powerup since he had magical mascots like in that sentai manga.
Genma was unhappy with the situation but knew that he could get Ranma back into the spirit of the training trip by a simple means.
It was a pity that he couldn't find a brochure written in Japanese, but this 'Jusenkyo' sounded like just the thing to get Ranma re-enthused to train in the Art more.
Besides all the WAFF drifting through the air with the pets cuddling up or standing guard over Ranma was going to give him diabetes at this rate.
