Some people, Toltiir noted that it seemed mostly those who already had an axe to grind or agenda to follow, decried the entire concept. A robot girl? A super powered meter maid android? That was obviously the owning of a girl who couldn't say no.

Which completely ignored that two major points, not even getting into whether she could actually physically be capable of such. First, the robot girl in question usually could say "no" to such advances in the popular literature of such. Second, those drawn to such concepts were usually of the "geek" or "nerd" variety.

For such individuals, having access to cutting-edge technology or above was considered quite a good thing. Also for such individuals, pretty girls were considered untouchable as many of those considered themselves 'un-date-able' - which in a number of cases was actually true. Not all though.

There were also those drawn to logical girls (or pseudo-girls) as someone they could actually relate to easier than the more normally encountered individuals who seemed to lose touch with logic and rational thought (at least to their viewpoint) on a regular basis.

So Keiichi Morisato, nice guy and definitely enthusiastic about machines, seemed a natural for the association with a gynoid or female humanoid artificial lifeform.

Toltiir had just grabbed one from another set of Bad Endings, putting things back together just enough. Some further repairs would be needed to unlock full functioning, but it was within Keiichi's knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems to puzzle out more of it as he went along.
